The defenders ( whose job is to tackle the raider) usually playing in both corner position and 1 or 2 in the middle positions among 7 players . The defenders hold the wrist of the guy next to him , so that he can form a chain to tackle the raider or dash him out of court and if he wants to hold the ankle or waist of the raider he can quickly leave the wrist of his partner and attack the ankle or waist of the raider, that's is why they are called a chain tackle or a solo tackle

But his knowledge was incomplete, he only knew to break in, he attained a glorious death. This game is about doing what abhimanyu couldn't do.

Kabbadi is a really old sports. It’s pretty much considered ancient (4000yrs old) compared to current modern sports, thus why it has a childhood game vibe ( older children’s games come from such sports) and it has that kingdom vs raider vibe. The breath hold is so that the players don’t stall. You have till you run out of breath to score a goal or get back to safety. It adds a bit of desperation and ensures the game doesn’t drag on.
@MaheshKumar-yj8nc10 ай бұрын
Not a child game. Indian civilisation places a lot emphasis on breadth and that is why yoga has so man breadth excercises. In fact the word for breadth „pram“ also means „life“. Breadth is life. Mastery over breadth is master over life.

The bonus point rule is that when your foot crosses the bonus line, the other foot must be in the air. The foot will obviously touch later, but at the point of impact, the rule is that other foot must be in air. As for holding hands, it is a strategy. When a raider is trying to touch the defenders, the can go back only till the endline. But by holding hands, the player can use the other person as a pole and lean even more back without going outside. If you see more videos, you'll understand that. Also notice how they hold hands, they don't hold palms. One person, usually the inside one, gives his hand and the other person holds the wrist area. And a thing you might find interesting is kabaddi name is derived from Tamil words 'Kai pidi' meaning 'hold hands'. Although that isn't the actual game, its a fun fact.

@@RealFansSports He brought that up because that is how this game has been played for thousands of years. It is only now that competitive Kabaddi is being played like a modern sport and that the need for more "fair" rules was felt and they switched from the breath rule to the time rule. This game is older than Yoga, and since Yoga itself is at least 6000 years old, that makes this game older than that. Although the academic debate on how old it is is still on, academia has concluded that it is at least 4000 years old. Ancient Hindu Epics describe the Gods playing this sport thousands of years prior to even that era, so some even believe it has been around for around 10,000 years. And the breath rule is how it has been played for literal millennia. In fact, if you see the Pro League raiders carefully, they do chant the word Kabaddi repeatedly out of force of habit. Even I was completely unaware of this time rule instead of breath rule system until I saw the Pro League for the first time.

The other kind is an outdoor sport with a larger field, which can be either grass or sand. The players do not wear shirts, and the audience is entirely male and tends toward Indian clothing, and some matches have a lot of people in Sikh turbans. The clothing is the "Persian" Indian kind, like maybe the matches are in Punjab or Rajasthan. The second type is predominant in videos from the US and Canada.

There are evidences available for Kabbadi being played in Iran (Persia) in 2000s to 2500s. So really nobody can tell how it started , but there are instances of Kabbadi & HUTUTU (Man's game) , Sattgotti & KHOKHO (Child's game) being played in Mahabharata's detailed texts. Oh i agree i think a lot of sports started as kids playing it and then adults making rules and regulations making it what they are today. We have been corrected on this sport on how it was apparently used as training for combat and wars centuries ago. All in all you cant tell me watching it for the first time it doesnt seem like a sport that kids began playing. especially with its similarities to red rover and tag

Wishing you all the success in 2024. If you insist I'd suggest mix up content in terms of reaction to music trailers etc along with sports.( Indian content has a great scope for success just because of the number game and you won't know when you hit milestones like 10,20 , 50 k even million subs. My 2 cents ❤❤❤
