excellent video. Other videos indicate the most common causes are (1) cracked hose (2) NVLD valve $30-$40. Easy.

My 2003 caravan had the same code , there was 2 cracked hoses that connected the test port basically about 6 inches beside that purge canister where he put his smoke machine and before that there was a cracked rubber hose just behind the throttle body. Seems on these caravans the small sections of rubber hoses are the culprits for the evap leaks !

Thank you! I'm a DIY guy, but I will always go to a professional when I'm out of my class (which is a pretty basic range). I do, however, buy cheap vehicles with the premise that, because I'm not well off with cash, I will put my heart into them. I've recently bought a 2002 Grand Caravan. I've recieved all codes for EVAP leak and a 0700. I just want 2-3 years from her, so I hope it'll last, though best case scenario, it's just the sensor for the 0700. Doubt it though, as I've felt a few subtle slips, and she can't accellerate like I'd assume she could from her general range. It seems almost hit and miss sometimes on accelleration, and I feel like she idles about 700 higher than she should sometimes, but if I keep the RPMs below 2500 on any acceleration ever, I can get the 2-3 years I want from her (I hope haha). SORRY FOR THE DIVERGENCE, MAIN QUESTION: Can I perform this smoke test with, say, a cigarette? I don't smoke much anymore, but if I got a smoker to blow every puff into the lines, would they be able to have enough pressure to push the smoke through the gaps? I know 'vape' smoke can appear a lot thicker, so perhaps if I got someone to blow that in? I'd prefer someone blew that into my vehicle than tar, as a side note haha! Would their lungs be enough to create enough pressure? Also, would they be able to generate enough tangible air to notice the leak if it's a large one?

absolutely NO. Don't waist your time. It's not how much pressure you can create, it's the pressure needs to be CONTINUOUS !!!! AND Vape smoke will disappate.

Wow . Amazing . This might be the problem im having . I was having a ruff idle , would remove the pcv valve hose ad it would bring up the idle , but would idle smoothly . Any suggestions ?

01 town and country i try the same method using the lower hose you removed ,but i see the smoke coming out from under the van at the other valve, i think canister vent valve, im using zurich pro scanner and i think you have to command it closed ? if i hook it up to the other hose , the lower one it will not leak from the valve , but that means the smoke its not going to the rear of the van ?

when you disconnected the two cables from the purge solenoid, how do you know which one goes on top and which one goes on bottom? mine are color codded black and orange.

Mine is an 06 Caravan the p0441 comes on when we drive it more than an hour on long trips I just reset it and it never comes on around the town driving.

check light code come on the fix is ,,Its under the car left driver seat replace the two hoses and your done !
