The red flashing circles are great. Maybe make the colour a little more solid and brighter and it'll be perfect.

I think it's a matter of personal taste, but the indicators will probably evolve over time. The goal is to make them more noticeable while still being fairly subtle.

This is DCS with the Syria map. The procedures are applicable to BMS, too, of course.
