Can I add that not all realistic fursuits have fur on them or at least all over them. There are some realistic fursuits that are made with some other fabrics like fleece or latex rubber type material as do on scaly animal bring realism to that creature. Case in point. I seen realistic dragons and lizard fursuits made from that. But year stormi, at least you covered the basics of what realistic suits consists of and compare it to toony suits. So that is heaps informative and good video

I love seeing realistic suits, I too wish there were more, so I'm making some. I have a semi realistic skull fox and I'm working on a realistic gryphon. I also have plans to make a red fox at some point. And to spice things up a little, I'm adding necomimi ears and other electronics and articulation. I think one of the best things that this type of suits offer is that u can go to other conventions ( for example) and not seem too out of place ,cause it's a more realistic type so u could take it to fantasy , maybe anime and such (I really want to make one realistic head one day cause they are hela cool )

Great video! No kiddin' about the cost of realism. If/when I get a fursuit I want it to have maximum realism, so that for anyone talking to me it gives the illusion that they're talking with a real life anthropomorphic fox. That means ultra-realistic head and NFT stretch fur everywhere to make it look like fur growing out of a natural skin base. The fursuit builder has a many-years-long waiting list, and the last time I got an updated estimate it was over $7500. I love both toony and realistic suits!

Toony is a lot more fun to interact I would think. You aren't restricted to only your animals base actions if you are a neon glow sparkle dog. But they are still intresting to see because they are so rare.

I discovered the fandom because of Realistic suits and thought they were just amazing. I do like (some) toony suits/makers, but will always like realistic more :D Just like the idea of imagining how anthro's would look if they were real, and realistic suits help a lot with that!

I love realistic and semi-realistic suits! I currently have a toony partial (won from an auction), but I plan to hopefully get (semi) realistic suits of my fursonas in the future. I did a lot of research and even compiled a list of my favorite makers in this regard. One honorable mention is Clockwork Creatures. I absolutely love their work, but its super expansive (at least from the quote calculator) and I think getting a spot or them is difficult.

I specialize in making kemono heads, but I'm really excited to finally try making realistic heads! I have an ornate hawk-eagle and a wolpertinger in progress atm. I love how super realistic suits is like wearing faux taxidermy.

My rabbit (wolpertinger) mask, ears, rabbit & rat jawsets (DVC's new updated rabbit mask don't have corresponding lower jawsets yet. I modified a rat lower & rabbit top jawset to work together), and tongue are from DVC. They're great stuff. I've used parts from them on commission work before in the past.

Golden Armor 27 they aren't. There are many different styles of fursuits. They are toony, semi toony, semi realistic, and kemono (anime inspired ). Not all fursuits are meant to look realistic. Different styles have different pros and cons

I made a badger suit for a client and had to citrate every tooth by hand all hand sculpted and painted. That suit head alone was $2,000 to make for me for it was all from scratch since you don't find badger parts or braces but since then she has loved her suit and I see her at cons a lot. I'm glad to see my hard work warn and enjoyed.

I cannot fathom how someone wouldn't marvel at these creations... But I guess it's just because I favor detail over appeal. However, to me, detail IS appealing. Cute fursuits are, well, cute but they just seem... overrated. Even if toony suits are generally more eye-popping, I guarantee the rarity of realistic suits would turn more heads. Now, while I may not get why more people don't like these suits, I _totally_ understand not wanting to own one, of course; the phrase "money is no object" definitely doesn't apply to everyone. I guess if I had a choice, I'd like a suit that could adapt to whether or not I want to seem cute or be taken seriously. I'm not sure if semi-toony/realistic is my ideal but perhaps it is. Anyway, I find it super cool to see fantasy sonas in a realistic fashion - really messes with your head, it's awesome!

I actually bought a realistic mini partial fox off of wildvskings at anthrocon this year. And the only thing that's not realistic is the tiny bits of sparkle fur. But my biggest complaint is vision. I can't even fit my glasses. But DAAAMMNNN is he comfortable to wear. Also surprisingly nobody has noticed the mesh. Sorry for rambling..

I was looking at the 3d wobbly follow eyes and it was honestly a bit confusing because of the low-quality images, but mostly because I did not know that wiggle/wobbly eyes are another name for googly eyes lol. took me like 5 full minutes to figure out that's what they were talking about.

Im getting my fursuit made by CityMutt and shes going to be a semi realistic fursuit or semi toony, meaning realistic looking but still has non realistic features. Shes going to be a fox with deer antlers and crescent moon on her forehead tail, thighs, and upper arms arms, have toony static eyes, baby pink, baby blue, and while fur, but realistic head shape, muzzle (movement, teeth, tongue and nose) and paws. :3
