Great vid. Usually fish for catfish using bait. However, I went kayak fishing on my local Lake Palestine and although the catfish weren't biting much, the bass were jumping all around me. Sure wish I'd of had something beside dip bait and dough bait with me. I'll have to make sure to include some top water bass lures and senko worms next time as well. Enjoy your calm approach and that you don't use that annoying techno music.

Great video as always! I love when they come back for a bait after a bite, or near miss. I had a decent a one a few days ago, bite the tail off my chatter bait trailer, and then come back for the rest! I keep all my gear (except rods) in my truck. So whenever I go, I just shuffle through my boxes and soft plastics to see what I want to take along. I always have my hooks, and weights, and a selection of soft plastics. Then I just need to choose between top water or swimming baits, cranks and such. It's been a great year so far! My brother turned me on to a new place a year ago, and I've been doing well there. Thanks for another entertaining video, Alex! Keep it realistic!

Changing lures does give you insight into what the fish like best, you can get a bite on a certain lure, but find they like another lure better. That last bass must have jumped a foot high out of the water, and it looks like it took you where it wanted to go.

Good stuff and great advice. Don't be afraid to change it up. What produced yesterday may not produce the next day. Also, don't be afraid to go outside the guidelines. I loved that you used a lipless crank bait. The general rule of thumb is that if the bite is slow, downsize and go more finesse. You gave rule the bird and busted out the lipless.

That's right. Grind it till you find it 👍

Went to sell the boat yesterday 😢 had fun with it but the cash was a bit more important. Plus the lakes I would take the boat to are mostly about 40 minutes north of the border and in really unpopulated areas, so if the boat gave out it any way I would have no cell service and no one to contact except a town that’s a 30 minute drive away.

Hey thanks for the videos man just got into your channel.. Question having trouble you could say I'm in a slump....does the wacky rig with the band on the senko make a big difference........ and I use a 4 ot hook is that too much or should I go smaller
@honkeykong855 жыл бұрын
Marcus Welsh personally? I think that’s way too big. 1 , 1/0 or 2 are as big as you’ll ever need to go on a wacky rig. Cuts down on snags too. Pretty much every hook company makes a wacky hook now and days. VMC,owner,gamakatsu,mustad,trokar are all solid, affordable options I’ve had spectacular results with the trokar neko finesse hooks as of late. Those thing bite and don’t let go lol
@RealisticFishing5 жыл бұрын
the band is just for durability, and I like a slightly smaller hook like a 1/0
@bassnazi47135 жыл бұрын
I am with you on the perpendicular hook on the wacky rigged senkos. I have even thrown one on a regular weighted EWG hook to throw in right after a miss on a top water and had great hook up ratings with it. May not be the "right" hook but works really well in a pinch.
