Retrofuturism is the word to describe this- where it’s in a futuristic setting but the technology looks both old and new at the same time. This game specifically is part of the “cyberpunk” genre of retrofuturism. (Blade Runner is also considered a part of the the cyberpunk genre.)

I think the guy went to the war, and during it became a prisoner of war or a prisoner similar to those of WWll. During his days of custody, he attempted at escaping the prisoner camp but failed and was punished by the guards in return. Then just when he couldn't take it anymore, the prisoner camp was attacked which unacountebly killed most of the prisoners. When he had his chance, he escaped for the second time and succeeded in returning to wherever he considers home. When at a club he met his wife, which later on was taken under the plague that suposebly killed her. And after he lost his wife, he suffered even more by experiencing the fire at that office building which also lead to that mishap with the demon robot dude that ended his miserable and beyond tragic life. I'm thinking of writing a book similar to the dark, meaningful, and emotional atmosphere this game portrays. What do you think?

I'm a bit disappointed that Jack didn't catch the whole 1984 Easter egg and the connections with the themes of this game. I really think that's so cool, although, that might just be me since I'm a book nerd. Jack, if you haven't already, I highly recommend reading 1984 by George Orwell. So, at 18:40, there's a book Jack picks called 1984 by gorge Orwell, which I recognized because I'm reading it at the moment. It's a really cool Easter egg since the book has a dystopian sci-fi theme similar to that of this game and actually follows a very similar plot, so it might have been part of the inspiration for this game.

Well, it is an unpopular opinion, but I rather liked it. While it did lack particular character, it executed the idea it was trying to show perfectly. I applaud that kind of work, its not something that's easy to do, especially in that time period. But if you did not enjoy, I can understand why. (Just please don't spoil the plot for others who might also enjoy it, even if the foreshadowing is on the nose!)

The actor who plays the main character is called Rutger Hauer, Jack. That's the name you were looking for :) Edit: Damn, this game is impressive. Wouldn't play it myself, but I've never seen anything like it before. The term Jack was looking for to describe the game's setting/vibe/etc. is cyberpunk. The building he's walking around in-game looks a lot like typically Polish buildings that have been ran to the ground. I'm really proud to know that the game is made by Polish developers. My nationals just keep outmatching each other more and more :D

the whole bit when he was jacked into the guys head and walking thru the prison reminded me of a quote I heard once. "its crazy the faces youll remember." I just thought it fit perfectly here considering the faces of people were random like he didn't have details of the guard guiding him. but the two behind him he remembered their faces with relatively good detail. Just a nice touch i think the devs put in. then the minute details were in a erratic state of change which to me seems real. its like when youre trying to remember something and your mind is constantly telling itself "maybe it looked like this, or this or this and this was like this, or was it like this."
