Hey, tech person here. That advert at the end is actually really misleading and harmful. A vpn won't protect you if you connect to a random wifi router. VPNs are a good step in protecting yourself from some things, but they do absolutely nothing for protecting against malicious wifi routers

Can you explain further? It definitely protects against the malicious wifi router seeing your personal data, but is there something else that they do to your device?

@@199NickYT man in the middle attacks, though many devices have some protections against it, it definitely is still more than possible. Malicious wifi routers have many ways of harming you. A VPN literally only spoofs your location and makes it hard to figure out your real location, that's it. That doesn't protect you from really anything at all other than advertisers who try and track you - which is a good thing to protect against, personally, but it doesn't help your device. And a malicious router can still see that you're connected to it, and it knows where it is, so that point I just mentioned is entirely moot.

FYI to everyone watching, the park has since been reopened with some of the original stuff in tact. The park is now called Mountain Creek Waterpark. While the saftey standards have increased, some of the less dangerous stuff is still original. Please upvote so people see The cliff jump at 5:54 still exist, the tarzan swing with the glacial water still exist, the "cannon shoot" at 6:03 still exist The first ride mentioned where you go flying down the hill has been revamped so you don't go down as fast, and the materials are much safer, but still exist The slide shown at 2:53 is now a roller coaster that follows almost the exact same footprint. Where they had the loop slide now host a thing called high anxiety, which you would just need to see for yourself They have a slide that is a 90 degree drop, and the floor falls out from under you as you go straight down They have a bunch of rides carved throughout the mountainside that make for an interesting experience

This place was so much fun. I say this having suffered a traction park injury. I slid down the Alpine slide on my back after I fell off one of those little cars. When my parents took me to the first aid building, I remember them telling my dad that they were waiting on two ambulances, and one helicopter for different patients and to take me to the hospital by car. We still went back after that, It was the greatest of times.

The craziest part is that out of all these rides, the most deadly one is the only one I've experienced. Many times, even. Wave pools area pretty common at public swimming centers in Sweden, and they're a ton of fun too. Of course, most people know how to swim here since it's required to learn in elementary school, but they don't exactly ask you to prove it before getting in a pool, and I'd be surprised if no one has ever died in any of the wave pools here.

I went on the tube slide that went into that freezing cold water. It was awesome, in my childhood opinion. The cliffs you could jump off of were also a ton of fun and probably much safer then the cliffs we would jump off into the Delaware when we were rafting in the summer. I survived Action Park in the mid 90s. You can actually still go there today. It is now called Mountain Creek Waterpark and the dangerous rides have either been modified or removed.

the alpine slide at Attitash Bear Peak in NH gave me a concussion . got to the bottom , was about to start getting out of my sled, person behind me was flying , couldnt break before our sleds and heads collided, i fell out and was messed up pretty good but managed / stubbornly walked to the aid station. 11/10 would, and have returned for more sledding. shits so fun

Personally, I've ridden an alpine slide multiple times throughout my life. It was on Bromley Mountain, a popular ski and snowboard spot in southern Vermont. The alpine slide, among other attractions there, was active during the off-season. I don't remember how this information was portrayed to me, but I vividly remember being taught how to operate the sleds on the slide. Having just a lever for control, it was quite easy to understand. There were signs set up on dangerous parts of the chute clearly directing you to slow down for the portion. Whether it was a change in slope or a tight turn, the signs were there. I was probably in my early teens or younger when I first went. I always felt safe riding it and to this day(20 years old) feel that way. I feel that most injury and fatalities resulting from these slides were at the fault of the user. I cannot speak for other locations, but Bromley did a great job teaching how to use the slide and what could go wrong if you don't listen to instructions. THE ONLY personal experience I have with an "injury" involving this particular alpine slide was through my father. I don't remember if he fell out of his sled or merely rubbed against the wall of the slide, but he got a pretty bad burn from it either way. But similar to how I would be, he didn't put the location at fault. He realized the injury was suffered due to his not following the instructions fully and he took responsibility.

My pops used to get free weekend passes from work, went there dozens of times, wrist bands for free food and drink. Alpine slide was my favorite one of them all. Man that place was freaking fun, dangerous, but fun. There is an Alpine slide in Bromley Mt VT also, is killer and better than the Action Park one!

Intrawest bought the area (and then some) in 1996 and reopened the area as Mountain Creek Water Park, albeit only after a _major_ overhaul since those guys actually knew how to run a park. One more change of ownership later, and in 2014 the park name was reverted to Action Park...briefly. Mountain Creek Water Park is still in operation today, and still by people who actually know how to run a water park.

Fun fact! This place was eventually reopened under the name Mountain Creek with different rides. I actually went there twice, and I remember someone sustaining a concussion on a body slide, although I don't know how. There was another rafting type ride that we had to wear helmets and had four people cramped into a tiny tube. I banged my head a lot against my friends' heads during sharp turns, but I had a helmet so I wasn't hurt, and neither were they. But still. I had no idea that MC was Action Park until long after that. It wasn't half as insane as this place, tho.

I work as a ride operator at Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington Utah (about 20 miles north of Salt Lake) which is the only official amusement park in Utah. We take safety very seriously here so most of the rides nowadays (the bigger, high-intensity rides) have computers and sensors rigged up to them whereas if any disruption is detected the entire ride shuts down completely and needs to be reset after the fault, wherever it is, has been cleared. Another thing is that the ride operators/attendants will have to have their foot on a foot pedal (similar to a safety switch) the entire time the ride is in operation that tells computer that the staff have returned to their stations and that there is someone at each of the consoles in the event that the emergency stop will need to be activated. If the switches are released while the ride is in operation, the ride will stop and a system reset will be required in order for the ride to resume operation

I rode one of those dry concrete bobsled rides over 30 years ago as a teenager. I flew off the sled, skidded down the concrete half tube, flew off on a corner and landed on the hard mountainous ground! I still have all the scars to prove it. The ride was shut down a few years later, due to all the emergency visits to the small town local hospital. I agree it was a good move. That ride was deadly, even for me as a adrenaline junky teenager. :-)

I went on an alpine slide in Minnesota last summer. I went over a hill too fast and flipped off my sled, landing on the track. Because I was going so fast, I slid about 20 feet on the concrete track (in my bathing suit mind you). I was instantly in searing pain and I ended up making it down to the bottom with blood covering the backs of my legs. I went to the hospital to discover that I had gotten second-degree burns on the entire back of my legs from about mid-thigh to ankle. The park said it happens all the time and they even had a name for it "track rash". Worst experience of my life

I worked at a water park in Canada that is still currently open and they have a loop slide that is actually fairly safe. You have to stand on a scale and if your aren't heavy/tall enough you can't go on the slide. You get in a pod at the top and the floor opens beneath you and you fall straight down into the slide that leads into a loop. It is pretty cool, and usually has the longest line. A lot of dudes who are local to the park stand at the exit of the slide because the speed at which people hit the water at the end of the slide frequently pushes women's bras off. The park has had a couple of lawsuits but I think they were for other rides, people get stuck or fail the loop on the slide but I've never heard of anyone getting hurt. They have a super dangerous wave pool though and a fair few other rides that have resulted in injuries. They are always tweaking the park though and trying to ensure it is safe, it is a lot of fun and I hope it doesn't get closed down anytime soon.

I've been on 1 roller coaster ever. I was a kid, and the latch that holds you down was broken. I had to hold on to the shoulder straps the whole ride while my latch flapped about.
