I see an awful lot of the same personality traits of Dumpty in his followers. They may not be all malignant narcissists like Dumpty himself, but ppl can still be on the spectrum of narcissistic traits. I also see reichwingers react to each other as though they are part of a tribe--a recognization that they each see in the other reichwingers around them, themselves, like a mirror. That the very crux of narcissism is being self-absorbed as though you looking in the mirror and so taken with what you see you can't look away. To STILL support any Rethuglicon, you have to be just like them. They are a whole tribe of narcissists and/or sociopaths/psychopaths. Watch any true crime show and eventually you will hear from the psyche experts. I've heard them say, "While not every narcissists is a sociopath or psychopath, virtually every sociopath/psychopath is a narcissist."

I personally see an incredible amount of Americans who have the personality traits as their cult leader, Dumpty. I believe that narcissism, and sociopathy/psychopathy is much more common than I ever thought it was. It is well known fact that with any company or business, once you reach management level, you will find higher incidence of ppl in those jobs who have narcissistic and or sociopathic personalities and traits. My mom and possibly dad and dad's family had personality disorders, particularly narcissism. When you're raised with a narcissistic parent, generally you recognize the traits very well in other ppl. And these traits are on a spectrum meaning some ppl have just some traits of the disorder while others, like Dumpty are full-blown malignant. I believe to STILL support this cult, you have to be somewhere on that psychological spectrum of narcissist and/or sociopath/psychopath, too. These ppl seem to feel elated when they are around each other, like they recognize themselves in each other.

I suspect that when Trump belittled the Libertarian crowd he was speaking more to the MAGA crowd who had invaded, essentially uninvited, and stolen all the Liberatrian delegates' seats up front. He was looking at the faithful, at his cult smiling back at him and cheering. He didn't care that the Libertarians outshouted them. What mattered was that the loyal MAGAs showed up for him, him, him. As a psychologist myself, today's discussion soothed my soul. Mary Trump's book talks about how ill Donnie's (as she calls him) mother was when his younger brother was born two years after DT. Donnie and his brother were essentially left in the home alone during the day while the older children were at school for two years approximately and DT didn't even learn to talk, get poddy trained... just imagine the willful neglect of the father while the mother was in and out of the hospital. His older sister Mary (13 years old) tried to mother them as best she could, bathe them, put them to bed. A wealthy man, Trump's father didn't think it was necessary to hire a nanny. DT's fathering consisted of shouting for a hungry, wet diapered toddler to never cry. HIS mother was a piece of work and her care giving was also brutal and mostly absent (grandma). Maternal grandparents and aunts were in Scotland.

I had volunteered on Hillary’s presidential campaign in ‘08 and President Clinton’s campaign in ‘96. Fighting the political propaganda and misinformation online had actually been helping me recover from my personal narcissistic abuse. My social media posts went back and forth between educating people about NPD and giving examples with Trump’s behavior. You can imagine how crushed I was on election night! Thank you for your great podcasts. I really enjoy them intellectually and you guys also have entertaining personalities. I have been frustrated with the media’s unwillingness to explain Trump’s extreme and dangerous mental health issues by having trained doctors like you come on and talk about NPD, malignant narcissism, anti-social personality disorder, the Dark Triad etc.. They keep trying to give some rational reason for his truly psycho childish behavior! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a publicist to get you all over MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS etc… I feel like some of his cult followers, who are in the throes of cognitive dissonance, could be saved if you would explain his behavior and why it is so dangerous. For millions of Americans, Joe Biden is the best President of their lifetime. Did you hear his speech today about what he’s been planning and working towards re Israel and Hamas? He doesn’t do knee jerk reactions for a quick political win. He is willing to take a political hit for the longterm benefit of the country and the world. I know he’s not perfect. But dang. If you can be in public service for 50 years and your opponents investigate you for 5 years for any dirt at all, and all they can find is that you love your son…that’s a bloody miracle life.

And it's a complete mystery how she died. I don't think they care about putting flowers on her grave. I don't think between all 3 of them Ivanka, Don Jr and homely Eric that they have 1 ounce of morals or empathy period. I'm afraid it runs so deep in this family and we already know Malania has no empathy except for her deceased mother and her Father I'm not even sure she has other siblings she carries herself like an only child. I hope I'm wrong and that Barron doesn't have this trait running thru his veins.

As a pharmacist, I can confirm that no drug like the drug Donalds has said is being given to Biden. I loved the Flomax comment. I would like to suggest the name (Slo-Max) for this [fictional] medication. In my opinion, Dr. Jackson is in Congress because he can’t properly perform as a doctor. If the stories are true about the drug flowing freely around the White House: first, where the pharmacist required to record, manage and dispense these medications; second, Dr. Jackson got the nickname the “Candyman” for a reason; third, Dr. Jackson should have been dishonorably discharged (if you could do that retroactively), not demoted from his final Navy rank; fourth, and last, if Dr. Jackson was actively practicing medicine while intoxicated, and if he was handing out Controlled Substances and legend medication’s without a prescription, I think he should have his medical license revoked. Thank you for your info on the “mental status” exams. I have been saying for a long time, every time he spouts he “aced” those exams, they aren’t exams that can be “aced”. They are intended to be diagnostic, if I am remembering correctly, right? My dad had bone spurs. Once there, they don’t just go away. If he had bone spurs, they would have worsened as he gained weight and there would be no way in hell that he could complete 18-holes of golf day by day. He really is NOT a person who should be President! History will condemn us for allowing a draft dodger, pathological liar, narcissist, misogynist, and xenophobic (and, more) person to become President! And, now, another black mark in history, that same twice impeached, majorly mentally compromised president, (who tried to overthrow his own government) is a convicted felon, and still facing more indictments in multiple states, which include stealing government secrets, and violating espionage laws (allegedly). Yep! 2017-2021 were some dark times, ([in Trump’s voice] some might say the darkest times we have ever seen. Possibly, um, probably the darkest period ever).

I would like to see them address the more important questions, which are "Why do so many people buy what tRUMP is selling?" and "How do we get those people to apply more critical reasoning to all the BS he spews?"
@andreah63795 ай бұрын
Critical reasoning and the conservative brain are strangers to each other. Scientifically, it is actually a fact that if you are all-in for conservative reichwing, the part of your brain that lights up, excites you is the Amygdala aka: the lizard brain as it governs primal instinct for "fight or flight." That means that it will be strong negative emotions that motive these ppl. Emotions like hate, anger and fear get conservatives worked up. It's emotions and NOT critical thinking skills that reichwingers are attracted to. They base their votes on emotions, unlike Democrats who really do typically use critical thinking skills and logic. Why do you think so many conservative reichwingers watch FOX, OAN, Newsmax, RAV any reichwing hate+lies TV as obsessively as they do? Because rw billionaires know what Hitler's minister of propaganda in WW2, Joseph Goebbels knew: That there are ppl that can be manipulated and deceived into turning against their own kind using strong negative emotions + big lies. Same fascist playbook that Hitler used, FOX & every other reichwing channel uses. Nothing new.
