My new hobby in the "luxurious" touch is sealing wax stamps. I am a teacher, and whenever I receive something from one of my students as a holiday gift or after they return from a trip, I always write a thank you letter to their parents amd put it in my students' homework folders. I just started adding sealing wax to seal the envelopes. Talk about an old school luxurious touch that has been lost. I would love to see Antonio do a video on lost touches in luxury that are small touches of class like sealing envelopes in wax with different emblems and insignias.

One way to build taste is to study people who have it. Look at pictures, see what they’re wearing, and think about how it might fit your life. Another possibility is shopping at high end consignment stores. I once found a Brioni suit for less than the cost of an average suit. A trip to the tailor for alterations and it looks great.

Outside of clothing and style, one hobby of mine that I've developed my taste in is whiskey. I know that it's not for everyone for a variety of reasons, which is fine. I've also put in my own safeguards in place to ensure a fun hobby doesn't become destructive. However, I've found I can enjoy a glass of whiskey responsibly. Being able to recognize the differences between things like Scotch or Bourbon or even sub categories of both of those is a lot of fun. Sipping a glass and finding different flavor notes or getting different feelings and images when enjoying said glass adds another fun element. What's also become fun is this is a hobby I've become known for in my social circle to the extent that I've been gifted a few quality bottles over the years because those giving them to me knew I'd appreciate it. Shoutout to any fellow MB's out there that who might read this as well.

I say building a better taste in all things can spoil you in many areas but it is always a double edged sword. Style, food, fitness etc it can make you judge things more so you must always keep this in mind and remember that you weren't always this aware and give grace to others on their journey.

It’s a good point though. The more knowledgeable about a subject you become, the better you can discern between high and low quality in that subject, which tends to lead to judgement/snobbery. Im fully convinced that judgement is a good thing, though taking it into snobbery tends to be rude. You can be judgmental towards the quality of something that you know a lot about, while still being gracious towards others that are less experienced in that subject. I think you’re spot on.

Insecure stuffed shirt types act like snobs. When it comes to good taste, if l happen to think someone doesn't have it, nobody will know how l feel. That would be bad taste, insulting and unlike a gentleman. Besides, doesn't everybody think they have good taste? When I dress myself l do it with confidence and own it. Well dressed is how I roll. Every watch that doesn't either buckle or velcro has always been in-between sizes for my comfort, to the point that I stopped wearing my Bulgari in favor of a $20 Casio Forester. However, drunk me has found that wearing the face on the inside of the wrist to be better than on the outside, which sober me will report back on tomorrow.

Growing up poor, wearing ill fitting mismatched clothes, and seeing how the other kids dressed fueled my desire to one day rise above, and dress with style. Teachers telling me your family can’t afford to send you to college. You don’t need to take this class, you should take that class instead. This fueled my desire to learn more What was a childhood curse, has been a blessing for 45 years of my adult life. If anyone has the passion and desire, they can rise above.

It makes me a bit sad how few people actually have good taste in music these days. Much like anywhere else, it's hard to define good taste when it comes to music, and you don't have to be a snob who exclusively listens to something that almost no one understands. That's extreme and, to be honest, might be the opposite of good taste. But being able to perceive and appreciate different kinds of music outside of pop charts, regardless of what your "regular" playlist of choice is, is I think what makes some people really stand out from the crowd. And just like with anything else, when you listen to good music, people can usually spot that, but only a few would recognize and really appreciate the pieces you're playing.

Antonio I dug this video as it/you really explained what "good taste" is. I am still working on my wardrobe but I like to think I have thE BEST taste in music. To explain my taste in music, I like to say that classical (baroque lately) is my wife, jazz and hip-hop are my mistresses and rock is a "sidechick" over the years I've taught myself how to cook lots of different food; one of my favorites to prepare is gumbo and/or a perfectly medium-rare ribeye.

Great video and I totally understand what you are saying. The older I get the more I appreciate good taste. You mentioned music briefly. Along those lines is audio equipment. I have really come to appreciate a good amp / speaker pairing or a good pair of headphones. It's possible to spend anywhere from $100 to over $4000 on a pair of headphones but you don't need to spend the high dollar to get a good sounding pair. Makes me cringe when I see guys at the office with the beats headphones vs something in a similar price range which actually sounds good. So yes I get it, there are many aspects of good taste and I find it engaging and fun to learn about different areas.

Thanks. I'm of the opinion that eating out, unless you're at something really high-end, is one of the most over-rated things you can do. I travel for a living and eat almost 100% of my meals in my hotel room, purchased from a grocery store. Some baked chicken, steamer bag of veggies and a nukable jasmine rice beats almost every restaurant.

I disagree. I don't really think there is an excess. You use the appearance from bodybuilding every day of your life. As a matter of fact, it makes style 10x easier. The strength gained also has a litany of benefits for your health (as long as you don't take steroids), and the strength is very useful for carrying heavy items.

Bodybuilding for appearance alone is absurd, in my highly biased opinion, and is met with at least as much ridicule as admiration by the general public. Regardless, everyone who is able-bodied should engage in regular healthy physical activity that encourages strength and fitness.

Taste is subjective, on an overall basis. Though there’s also taste in music from those who enjoy classical to jazz to modern R&B. Some will call todays music gaudy or call old school rock and roll boring. Also, being a ‘New generation’ WWF fan, most notably Shawn Michaels, I can appreciate the 80’s era fandom. Good stuff.

Watches are overrated. Most people don't care what brand or how much it cost. Higher chance if somebody is checking Your watch - is that he gonna rob You. Lmao Unless You're rich, watch is last place to spend Your hard earned money. Watch is just an accessory that needs to exist. It's a piece of jewelry. Just like rings and chains. You don't need 10'000$ diamond rings or 50'000$ diamond chains. Most important that You at least have them. Doesn't matter price. As long as it fits with Your outfit and style. Rather invest Your money in high quality jacket and high quality shoes, multiple. Watches are fake confidence. IMO.
