In EU beer+wine is allowed from the age of 14 (with parents even younger), and they need to be at home at midnight (with their parents no limit). From 16 to 18 it is 02:00am (again no limits in company of parents). From 18 onwards no limits at all. Same with having intercourse: some countries have the age of 14, but definitely max. age 16 for all other countries. Parents have no say there at all.

That is very true. A lot of people would see that as a judgmental statement, but you see that kind of crime everywhere that jobs have closed down, so there must be a correlation. We have a city like that close to where I live, that everyone avoids, but if you drive through the place you see that everything is closed. Only places open are the tow yard and a pharmacy. People have to earn money some way, so there's crime.

I myself live in a town that was once a mini Detroit in terms of the auto industry being the biggest employer in the town and surrounding area....and one day it packed up and left.... But crime isn't the answer & you won't find hope or money in the bottom of a liquor bottle.....and these are kids/young adults that parents should know what they're doing out so late and drinking so much and in general acting up/committing crimes out of pure boredom.
@Hollylivengood

@@BitterBetty76 Right, I'm not saying that crime is the answer to unemployment, just that it is an answer at all that some people turn to. You don't find a lot of crime where everyone is working, and able to live honestly. It's just a sad fact. Yes, the parents seem off, and the kids...all of them... are equally as off, but when you look at the employment levels, you can see it's a problem.

I knew someone who had to do this. He identified his sister's body because their parents were so absolutely destroyed, HE wanted to protect his mom and dad from seeing their first born child that way. He chose to be the one stuck with that final memory of her, because he didn't want that for his mom or dad. He told me he felt like his sister wouldn't have wanted their parents to live with that, because living with burying a child is more than enough for a person to be burdened with. He felt it was his duty to his sister as well. The sister in this case may have had different reasons, but this might give you some insight into possibly what she was thinking.

No wonder your brain stopped developing itself. How about taking responsability for your own life? And where are the parents guiding these boys? How about not skipping classes and doing your homework? Or is that really very oldfashioned to say these days? Or helping out at the youth centre? Or taking up a hobby? Practising mechanics on old cars all together. You'd still be hanging out, but then in a useful way. Being outside drinking every night, kicking bins, making noise, slashing tires....what a total waste of spending your youth and actually ruining your brain like this. Incredible!

Lucy is by far the strongest member of the family. She arranged the whole funeral, without the help of any of her parents. Kids nowadays think drinking and taking drugs are cool, but so many deaths occur when these two substances are taken together. It is a lethal combination. It seems also that the children were left mostly to fend for themselves. The father is not living with them and the mother is totally absent. It is a miracle that Lucy is such a "stable" girl. Drinking has been the thing to do for the youth and older people in the UK for decades, which lead to a serious moral decline in the UK.

Almost all of my friends and siblings smoke and none of us in my entire life on this earth has done any real damage on this earth and we taught our kids the same and hopefully when I have grand kids they will be the same. I said all that to say this; I honestly get so upset when people blame straight marijuana for destructive behavior when in reality, they all the time had other substances as well. I don't blame the family for feeling justice was not done because it wasn't. I feel so sad for the family and the other friend who is struggling with guilt. I do hope someone gets him grief counselling because he should not have to carry this into his future. If you are reading this yourself, you are NOT at fault in anyway! Even if you had gone back, it would of happened anyway, the other boy was to far out of control and you could of been killed as well for trying to interfere or just because you were a witness. Then that monster would of destroyed two families instead of one! The only fault, the only blame and the only guilt is one the hand that trust the knife!!!

And the terrifying fact that the parents absolutely believe this to be the truth! This happens as a reaction to their parenting. Which is just not the case! I made deals with my kids when I knew that they could understand and the one that would apply here is: I want you to look me in the eye and give me your word you did not do this. Children lie for various reasons, so you need to have a definite way of knowing the truth. So do NOT use this for everything! It is meant for dire straights only! This was mine. Ironic that Josh was angry when his speaker was broken but felt it was perfectly okay for him to damage his neighbor's things. His death was a simple case of you reap what you sow. He threatened someone with a knife and ended up getting stabbed. It's weird that Lucy is haunted by Dillon's voice but not by her refusing to take a minute to stop her brother when she saw him grab a knife (she knew he was going to slash innocent peoples tires .....fabulous role model for her.....and just shrugged it off as her "hero" big brother just having fun with his mates). It's not surprising that she had to do all the adult things when it came to her brother's death, obviously her parents had no control in the family letting their son quit school and be a full time hoodlum was their best attempt at parenting.

OMG! I've listened to so many of these cases and some have made me extremely sad, some have had me damn near frothing at the mouth in anger(🤷🏿‍♀️), and some have even left me totally confused... But this case managed to make me feel all of these things and more! Seeing this crime through the sisters POV is having such a weirdly profound effect on me... I've seen the parents of the deceased, the friends, and other family members and I've seen siblings too but I think what hurts/touches me the most is the fact that his sister is still a child compared to the parents...idk but it really made me think about one day these same things might fall to me and I don't know if I'm strong enough as a woman who is almost 45 years old and compared to me, this baby girl was an absolute ROCK when everyone around her fell apart. She stood up and made sure her brother was sent on very nicely and made sure her parents could grieve... The only thing is, my heart breaks wondering if she has had a chance to grieve her only sibling? How hard this had to be without the added responsibility she just did without a grumble because she wanted to make sure things were as close to perfect as possible for her brother.... This young lady is so strong and I sincerely hopes she knows this and is appreciated by those around her. I hate that this happened and I almost feel sorry for the perpetrator but I can't fully feel bad for him because he is, in my opinion, lying about what he intended that night. There are too many facts that point towards intent. Idk what the jury was thinking except more than likely they didn't want to believe a kid that young could really intend to kill someone. How in TF they could NOT know that some kids can be very mean and intentional in their actions despite a young age.... I hope that she finds herself again because she really deserves a happy full life! Peace and positive vibes for the family and friends of Josh!! RIP Josh!

All of the lads drinking large amounts of hard spirits is no doubt the catalyst for this whole situation. Josh was chasing the perpetrator home with a small knife earlier with the others, that seems to me to be somewhat of a provocation to what ultimately happened. Considering all of that I think the sentence was reasonable, even though it's a sad story for all involved. Alcohol can do more than you think and turn people savage.

My nephew was born 2 days after this kid, March 5th 2001. To think that my nephew is now 21 and experiencing that young adult life, it’s really sad to hear that a boy born days apart had his life snatched from him and his family. To think his family was holding him as a baby the same time I was holding my nephew as a little baby is chilling. In 2001 who would have thought that beautiful bouncing baby boy would be taken so young. It’s not fair to this family. I will probably think of Josh Taylor now every time I get so see my nephew or talk to my nephew. This isn’t fair and my heart goes out to his family and his little sister.

Causing trouble, smashing things and being loud and obnoxious is NOT a normal teenage thing. I really wish people would stop saying that because it’s like giving permission to these unbalanced kids with raging hormones and emotions to act a fool. It’s normal to laugh and goof around yes but throwing rocks and bottles at stuff and starting fires and disrespecting elders is not normal or acceptable. I really wonder what the jury would say if his sister did the exact same to him. Or if one of their kids got a butcher knife in the heart.

I am not against weed in any way but I have seen paranoia in many ppl who've taken it. I myself never have though. It does happen but not to the point if violence I blame that on the acholol and the person

All in fun, they were just drinking, smoking weed, taking coke, slashing tires, they’re all punks, delinquents. Who gives them money for all this “fun”. It tell me a lot when the sister has to identify her brothers body, non existent parents

That jury were idiots. Justice was not served here and a murderer is back out on the streets to murder again when he gets mad.
