@@lordchikage9015 The 72 hour "996 workweek" (9 AM to 9 PM, 6 days) is hell of a lot harsher and wears out people way harder than the 955 in the States, but it got massive pushback, with most workweeks being the standard 40 hours in most industries. Alibaba's CEO got a ton of shit back then for posting stuff glorifying the insane grind that is 996. There was a real mass movement of young employees "lying flat" and doing the bare minimum in protest, especially as the hugely competitive labor market meant that even many with solid credentials ended up hard pressed to find decent jobs. The government didn't intervene and go give them "big problems", even though it likely could Oh, and the "suicide nets" story comes from Taiwan and honestly is probably just there for more general saftey purposes. You might also want to look at GDP PPP per capita and wealth inequality, and then factor in how there's plenty of expenses most Americans pretty much have to pay that are much more optional in China (one example being cars, on account of China having a great transit system. There's also how China has much higher home ownership rates, meaning less rentals per capita). These expenses stimulate the economy numbers by moving money around and therefore boost GDP while making the lives of the general populace worse. It's that classic joke about how breaking windows and paying to replace them boost the economy on paper while otherwise doing nothing. Going back to your slavery point, no. The USA, put it lightly, is hilariously inefficient when it comes to tons of stuff (like healthcare. The White House spends more per capita on healthcare than any other country on earth on worse results, likely due to those funds getting sucked up by the pharmaceuticals industry who also happen to spend more on lobbying than weapons manufacturers and oil companies put together). Bullshit Jobs by Graeber does a good job of illustrating the insane waste of people's time that is built into the economy, primarily at the service sector. This isn't nearly as big of a problem in an economy still dominated by actually making tangible things. Additionally, with the massive prison population, the hugely lopsided incarceration rates for POC, and how prison slave labor was actually enshrined in the constitution through the 13th amendment, you can't seriously state that slavery ended in the USA. It just got some nicer words painted over it and shoved under the rug.

He won’t name The current administration or the Milwaukee chapter of “Drag Queen Story Hour” who’s head was just arrested for child porn. People will say “drag queen story hour” has nothing to do with China’s advancement ahead of us ...but are they lying to themselves? It’s an example of every city council that is FORCED to devote countless days in allowing something like this into their city because American parents can’t be bothered to read to their kids for ONE solitary hour. Or is it really because of that? I posit that the people who send their children to these folks are doing it in order to boast on Twitter and to their liberal friends that they “are helping marginalized sexual orientations.” Would the Chinese care about this? No. Would they even allow it? No. Common sense tells me that groups who want to read to, and demand access to your children’s based SOLEY on the fact of their sexual orientation (being a drag queen) are dangerous. It’s like “reformed rapists” demanding to teach women how to bake, something is wrong. But if you say it, Bill Maher’s party will jump down your throat.

Magnet schools are typically an excuse, not for providing premium education to the "best and the brightest" but to provide sub-standard education to everyone else. Yes, the culture wars are ridiculous, but that's what Bill makes his living on, so he will never talk about the solution, which is to get control of the oligarchy that has actively worked for decades, and even centuries, to stoke that war in order to keep us divided so they can exploit the hell out of our predatory economy.

You know this IS the future that YOU wanted Bill! In the 1970s a mid 20s Donald Trump revitalized a failing NYC by organizing building and infrastructure projects. That's what launched him into high society in the first place. It appears to me he just wanted to do something similar for the whole country, and instead of supporting that, you were busy arguing for deliberately causing an economic failure just to get rid of the guy who actually wanted to fix all the stuff you are now complaining we aren't doing! We had ONE guy saying Chynah! Chynah Chynah! While the entire blue anon manufacturers of consent, such as yourself, were busy gaslighting and distracting us 24/7 about Russia. You think your precious Beijing Biden is going to push back against the new rising empire or fix any of this? No. YOU wanted this Bill, so don't pretend like you are the one spitting truth when this is the very failure you have been rooting for all along. You are part of the problem! Maybe instead of demanding to know when America was ever great and screaming about racism (that originates from YOUR party), you could have said: hey, we have a checkered past, but let's put that behind us and work to make the country great NOW! Obviously that's too much to ask from a snake such as yourself who only tells the truth when it's convenient.

Of course you don't, forget I asked. He was a criminal then and nothing's changed. The only thing trump tried to do is pull as much money out of our government as possible. How many millions did we spend at rump resorts over 4+ years? It all went in his pocket ya rube. The only infrastructure he built was a pointless wall that can be cut through with a sawsall, @ 20 million a mile. Both sides have issue that are dragging us down, but there were no huge campaigns to stop the publication of Dr. Seuss books, or un-gender Mr./Mrs. potato head, who on the hell cares about these things? I've never met anyone. There was a huge campaign however to funnel billions to trump friendly contractors for a pointless wall because a large portion of the population hates brown people. So both sides have issue, but one side has nazis and racists(your projection is bullshit BTW), so some people have to waste time fighting fascists instead of getting things done. So lets agree that cops should stop shooting black people in the back, Gay people are fine, women should have choices regarding their own bodies, your religion is yours and you have no right to force it on anyone else, and not all the money belongs to the people who already have most of it. America in our prime when we built lots of stuff it was all state of the art while the rest of the world was living in squalor. it isn't really worth it to rebuild a functional airport for example to build a brand new one for no other reason than it looks nicer if its functioning. its kind of like our payment systems too. alot of asian countries just pay in stores with their phones while we still use outdated card systems. its not worth it for new developing countries to use this old tech but its also not really worth for us to throw it out quite yet. although i am surprised about how much china is doing it makes me wonder despite us being way richer where the fuck is all of our money going.

Not all of it is bad. There's a lot of nuance here he isn't addressing. The problem with high speed rail is not enough people would use it if we built it. There's a reason it hasn't been built. The government would have to outlaw automobiles and airlines, and that's never going to happen. And he is right about the advanced classes, but it certainly wasn't like that when I was a kid. My schools were pretty good, as were my teachers, even though we didn't have a lot of money for up to date computers etc. It's only the last 2 decades the schools have went downhill. I would blame Democrats/Liberals, but conservatives have also taken an anti-intellectual stand, and it's pretty sad. I will say the U.S. is still leaders in innovation and basically inventing new things. Not all those things are beneficial, some of it is motivated by money, but at least the innovation is there. Decadence is something that seems to happen to all prosperous countries, and it will eventually happen to Ch!na as well. We've seen it happen to the Greeks, the Romans, and plenty of others. Eventually a population gets so much wealth that they get lazy and don't want to work hard anymore. The Roman citizens did not even want to serve in their own military, they had to have barbarian tribes fulfill their military requirements. And bringing in slaves to do work they didn't want to do, something the U.S. is doing with immigration. Though Ch!na also seems to be doing this with bringing in Africans for certain jobs, it's still small scale from what I've seen, but it may be a thing over there in 50 years. My biggest thing is how young people are so unintelligent. I have no fear they could take my job because I have yet to meet one nearly as intelligent as myself. None of them have been able to even come close to doing my job as well as me. I wonder who is going to run this country when my generation (gen X) retires.
