What group does he actually hate? name one that isn't some extreme leftist lie and I'll grant it to you. You think he's going to kill all the gays? he has no plans for them. Hell do you know who was initially against gay mariage? OBAMA.

Understanding the problems with ACA isn't that hard. When insurers realized they had 22 million more premium payers they jacked up their premiums. It was purely a greed play. In turn, HMOs, hospitals, doctors (some), suppliers and pharmaceutical companies jacked up their prices - more greed. With *_that_* "excuse" in-hand, the insurers jacked up their rates even higher. In short, there was no regulatory cap in ACA to prevent artificial increases like these. All of the other claims about the failings of ACA, like extreme increases in services, are window-dressing designed to manipulate simple-minded people - on both sides. If you give a greedy corporate executive the opportunity to pad their quarterly numbers and "earn" a bigger bonus, then don't be *_FUCKING_* surprised when they do exactly that. But, alas, no one gives a shit about reality anymore.

Well done Bill Maher- I would love to see both sides try this hard to understand each other! It only helps us understand why people support or reject certain things, and helps us change our rhetoric from hate/like certain people, news organizations, etc.. Matt Schlapp did a great job defending his position and I think he was HONEST. Bill Maher did a great job trying to UNDERSTAND... Honest understanding.. that's where we need to be whether our President is or not.

The more I hear liberals and conservatives arguing, where liberals are presenting concrete, immutable facts, and conservatives sit there with their thumbs up their asses going "nope, nope, that's not a fact, we have better facts"... I'm starting to feel that this is just a culture gap that simply cannot be closed. This gap is a result of absurd levels of cultural insulation and isolation between deeply rural and deeply metro sectors of the country, almost akin to North and South Korea, where even the very words that we use have entirely different meanings now. To the left, "facts" are still facts, but to the right, "facts" are simply the opinions of their Dear Leader (Trump, at the moment), regardless of whether they carry any sort of weight. "Lies" are lies, unless you're a Republican, in which case they're "alternative facts". I don't even think they're making this shit up anymore - I'm starting to think they *really believe it.* And this applies to pretty much all Americans who still believe that the Democrat/Republican dichotomy is still a valid and functioning system, not just to politicians, because the American people are still eating this shit up. If we actually had sane, moderate people in the country who care about things like "facts" and "reality", then they need to get their asses out of bed and VOTE. My only glimmer of hope for the future of this country is that this will be The Promised Administration that so intensely exposes how batshit insane Republicans are, it causes their entire party to whiplash into irrelevance. People like to call this dichotomy a pendulum (I see alt-righters saying shit like "this is just the pendulum swinging back the other way" all the time), but it's gotta hit a wall somewhere, and if we're lucky enough to survive their bullshit, I can't imagine it not crashing and burning at the end of this administration.
