Wow, this was a great video! Not only do you explain how to work on your brakes but also the WHY of what you're doing. I want to learn what the function of the caliper piston is and that the rear brakes are a dual system. This video takes care of all that. Thanks so much!

It's also a good idea to flush and fill the brake fluid, after replacing the Rotors and brake pads on all 4 side. Performance Drill and slotted rotors and brake pads cost under $300 A mechanic will charge close to $1,000 just to do a 2 hour job, when you can do it yourself at home and save $1,000 in labour. Inner tie rods are easy, same with spark plugs and ignition coils and replacing the Serpentine belt and water pump and struts and control arms. Buying car parts is not that expensive, paying someone to do the work for you is a rip off. Do the work yourself, it makes you feel good and you save hundreds of dollars in your bank account. For future replacement car parts, or emergencies.

Why not put a screwdriver in a push caliper in before taking off
@elchanojose Жыл бұрын
Hello Tony! You are right, you can do that and avoid having to compress the piston on the caliper using the c-clamp. That is one of the best ways to do it, compressing it before removing it from its location. Take well care Tony!

Is the 21’ Camry manual and not electric parking brake the same process? I seen videos where a warning light will pop up on the instrument cluster if you don’t put it in service mode but mines not electric. Just trying to find out before I attempt to change my rear pads

How different is the emergency brake than the others Camry 2006 , 2007 cause I don’t know how the emergency brakes it’s cause this 2006 Camry no brakes no cables and no shoes brakes nothing

You don't use that little clip that goes on the break pad, or is it not necessary.
@elchanojose Жыл бұрын
Hello Thanos! We recommend that you put that clip on. The little clip is put on one of the brake pads so when in the future the brake pads estará wearing down one es the clip starts touching the rotor and starts making a noise to let the driver know that the brake pads are due for replacement again. We don’t put them on because we do periodical maintenance around the car and we keep an eye when the brakes need to be replace. Take well care Thanos!

Do I have to replace the rotors when replacing the brakes?
@elchanojose Жыл бұрын
Hello Mario! You don’t have to replace the rotors on your vehicle every time you replace the brake pads. Rotors are usually replaced when they are or have become thinner than normal thickness, when they become scratched or have groves cause by the brake pads. Also, when you noticed that they might have un even surface. Rotors can last longer that brake pard but remember to inspect them every time you replace the brake pads to see if they pad a visual inspection or not. The biggest reason rotors have to be replaced, is because the brake pads have worn down to the metal that now there is no pad but only metal to metal and the rotor gets damaged and needs to be resurfaced or replaced. Hope this can help you and be useful. Take well care Mario!
