Rear Cargo Box Jimny JB74

Here you can see how i built a custom made cargo box on the back of my Suzuki Jimny. Since i have 35" tires i did not want to have a spare that big on the back. In Iceland most 4x4 owners carry a spare tire repair kit. The Jimny is a small vehicle and does not have a big cargo space, so this box comes in handy when overlanding. In this box i can store most of my recovery gear, extra fuel and other important stuff needed if something breaks or goes wrong 👍😄 Enjoy and please like and subscribe to my channel. Great stuff mate, had my Jimny a year now, best car ever. Done a few mods, tyres, tow bar, bull bar for roos in Australia.

Very good idea to get some extra storage space you may need something to dampen the noise when you offroad. But definitely comes in very well the extra space in the jimny

You could add folding legs (or screw in) to the removable lid to use it as a table....

Great box how did you compensate for the extra weight on the door hinges ? The only thing I didn’t like is the nuts holding the lid

The box is made from aluminum and weighs only 5 kilograms more than the spare tire with everything in it👌So almost one year in (traveling a lot) the hinges are holding the extra weight and no problems. Still working on better a solution attaching the lid👍

Im trying to find an internal lock box that I can put inside the Jimny that is made to fit the car properly so that I can lock things in the car securely or at least out of sight. Also I have problems when i get groceries and have a passenger everything rolls around in the back without without being secured. Does anyone know a solution to that?

No need for spare wheel? what about the load on the hinges? i would def make some edges to match the flares on that, but thats just pref i guess. good video :-) Norway
