Thanks for this video. I just did this job today on my 2010 Mazda 3 S. Mine has ABS, and the ABS sensor was attached with a odd little star shaped bolt, probably E-torx, but I'm not super familiar with those. I was able to easy remove it with a regular 5mm combination wrench. Also, on my car, the bearing hub assembly was held together with a regular socket bolt, so I didn't even need the big Torx bits you used. And yes, it's possible to remove the entire brake caliper/bracket if you want to save time and you're planning to re-use your same brakes. Just be prepared to use a beefy 14mm combo wrench, because on my model, a brake line runs right over the one bolt, prohibiting a standard socket wrench. Thanks again for the help!

Easy. Good video man. I need to do my rear-end now. I just did my front end, that was more complicated. I didn't remove the brake pads just remove the whole caliper and brackets lol:) and slide everything back on.

If you have ABS brakes and get the wheel hub from AutoZone, it doesn't come with the ABS sensor. You have to take the sensor off the old hub and screw it onto the new one. It has a weird inverse torque head (E5 I think), but I got it with a 6 mm socket.
@motorcarnut6 ай бұрын
Most come with the abs sensors and if vehicle doesn’t have it, it can still be used. Didn’t know about AutoZone thanks for that extra information maybe can help others!

Are the rear hub assemblies left and right oriented, or are they universal fit for left and right
@motorcarnut Жыл бұрын
Universal, the only thing you have to make sure of is if you have ABS or not.

I have a 2010 mazda 5 , should i order wheel bearings with ABS sensor or without ?
@motorcarnut Жыл бұрын
If your vehicle has ABS then you have to order one with it, if yours doesn't have ABS then either one is fine.

Where can I find the torque specifications for mazda 5 2010, I cant find them anywhere? The ones I find are says 170 foot pound And my wrench is inch pound with a range max 960. If I convert 170 ft pound to inch pound its around 2000 inch pound ? Also I want to know the torque on T50 screws for wheel hub assembly Brake bracket Capilar pins Lugnuts. Where will I find them ?

Alldata diy online $20 a month or your local library online Free should have decent repair info as well. I'm not local now or I would send them.

I noticed the new hub has the abs port. Does it matter? I ask bc I just bought a hub yesterday and the non-abs was $20 more.
@motorcarnut2 жыл бұрын
No, as long as your car doesn’t have abs

@@motorcarnut I've got a question mlt sure if you can help or not, so my mazda cx5 i think is a wheel bearing but not entirely sure, it sounds more like a whistling on the passenger side more then a growling, could that still be a bearing

Only comment would be you can just pull the entire caliper off with 2 bolts and then slide it out
@motorcarnut Жыл бұрын
True, but it’s a little bulkier that way, but yes.
