As a former professional installer of child restraints this video is very good. So great to see a video with adequate information and clear demonstration and good advice. If you're wondering how tight "very tight" is for 5 point harnesses : place two fingers together flat on the child's shoulder top beneath the strap pads along side the head. If you can roll them up vertically with the harness locked then it's still too loose. So basically you want one finger's worth of wiggle room across the circumference of the shoulder but no more. This will allow enough space for comfort and breathing room but they won't be able to to slip the harness during driving or a collision . Most people always have the straps too loose for fear of hurting the child. However if you start them off like this they'll never complain that it's too tight. This method will work every time and was instructed to me direct from the big name manufacturers . Hope that helps anyone who's interested.

We just spend couple of hours figure it out for our nearly 5 month old and god bless you because halfords didn’t want to fit it in (they said they don’t want to take responsibility, which is wired because someone else told me that they do it). So we end it up installing it ourselves which was easy. There is no set recommendation. The slope of the vehicle seats and the position of the ISOfix points varies from car to car, so you will need to adjust the recline according to what works best in your car.

You can use any recline position that is comfortable. It is generally better to make the seat more upright the heavier the child gets, but this seat has no set rules about which position should be used and which size or weight.

There’s a slit in the seat cover above the strap that you pull to tighten the harness straps. Put your finger in there and you will feel a flat button. Press and hold that and then pull the straps with the other hand to loosen the harness.

Hi, you know the little plastic covers to go on the isofix clips - I can’t seem to fit them into my car! Is it safe to use the seat without them as you have in this video? Hi, I never ever use those things. They are supplied with all ISOfix seats, in case the ISOfix points are deep and hard to get to. But I have found that when they are so hard to reach that you need these guides, the guides themselves are also really hard to fit. With the guides in place you can't push the seat/base in as far as you can when they're not used, so the seat always wobbles a bit more. I would just put them in the bin. :)

Great, but with one glaring omission. How do you slacken off the harness straps? There’s a not easy to spot opening in the seat cover above the strap you pull to tighten the harness straps. Slip your first two fingers through and you will feel a button you can press to slacken the harness straps off.

Children's skeletons are much softer than ours, children are very flexible. Sitting with their legs crossed comes naturally to them, they don't find it uncomfortable nor is it unsafe.

We are currently using the stage 3 wedge in the seat I know it’s recommended around 15 months taking it out but at nearly 10 months old he’s basically sitting on top of the seat with the wedge and looks so uncomfortable the straps also don’t sit next to his neck properly. With wedge taken out he sits more in the seat properly now but is this safe for the wedge to be out at his age?

Totally. All babies are different sizes, the age given is just a guide, but you can remove the wedge when it no longer looks comfortable.

Great video and very informative I had one of these spin 360s for my son when he was born 4 years ago it worked well for a few months and me and Mrs took my son out and we put him in his seat we heard the click when turned the seat soon as I moved off and went round a round about the swivel lock unlocked itself and the seat spun all the way round and not locking which left me losing confidence in the design and resulted going back to a traditional baby car seat

That sounds like a problem with your particular one that should be covered by the warranty. If you take it back to your retailer they will be able to get it repaired or replaced for you.

Yes, this car seat will never be 100% solid, and that's normal for this seat.

There is a slit in the cover just above the strap that you pull to tighten the straps. When you put your finger in there you will feel a flat metal button. Push the back of that button down and hold it while you pull the straps with the other hand. You only pull the actual straps that come out of the pads, but not the pads themselves. Pull the straps forwards and down towards the child's knees.

Hi, Yes I know what you mean, it can be hard to get your hand in in some cars, it depends on the shape and angle of the car's backrest. I have not found the headrest hard to adjust though, it may just take a bit of getting used to.

The numbers are just recline settings, there are no rules about which one should be used when. I would bear in mind though, that the more upright the seat, the safer it is in a crash. So I always try to make the seat as upright as possible with just enough recline to keep the head up when the child is asleep.
