It's easy to critique when you freeze each frame but you can't do that on the ice. He had made his decision to hit him 20 feet away. It's part of the game. I doubt he knew beforehand how it would turn out for his opponent.

Wonder why Nurse wasn’t ready. Poor guy was just starting to play better. Get well soon DN.

Good video, as always, Dr. Wilson. I know Reaves is a good guy off the ice, but a bad guy on the ice. His type of player is outdated, and needs to be eradicated. It's time to play by the rules, and within them. Let's see if the NHL will send a message or continue status quo! All the Best, Nursey. See you Soon.

Leaving your feet as a result of delivering a hit is legal and I'm sure as a doctor you can understand the physics behind why that happens on MOST hard open ice body checks.

What part of his game is outdated? The fighting? Reeves isn't really known as a particularly big hitter and this wasn't a deliberate or targeted headshot like we saw from guys like Matt Cooke. This is a hockey play resulting in accidental head contact. Suspension worthy for sure, but not deliberately dirty.

No, Nurse is out dated. 6"4 making himself 5"8, zero play awareness. He was looking down and away from any forecheck the whole time. Total lack of awareness resulted in this hit. Repeat SIX FOOT FOUR. This is the equivalent of leaving your doors unlocked in a bad neighborhood. Pay attention, to the players on the ice. Zero awareness. Reaves was already in the offensive zone Nurse was in lala land. It's a contact sport and the entire Oilers line, goalie and Nurse all failed to protect themselves/him self
