OG VIDEO: • Beth Hart - Am I The ...
ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.
Subscribe to Rebecca Vocal Athlete to get inspired by new videos!
Have a great day!!
Rebecca

After a life of sex & drug abuse and mental health problems, it's a wonder that Beth is still with us. The full Paradiso gig is feral, possibly for the wrong reasons and by that I mean, she was a recovering wreck of a human. Today she is surrounded by people who care for and look after her, and her live performance is more calm, though still highly emotional. Her own songs now act as self therapy to purge her demons and we should all get a wee bit of Beth in our lives as she is a fantastic songwriter, singer and performer. If you are going to review anything else by Beth, go for ANY version of "I'd rather go blind." She nails it every time.

I was so lucky to actual be present at that concert. The best live performance untill now. All I can say is that the room was filled with LOVE.... Love flowing from her to us and back again. I felt I was back in the sixties, though I was born in 1966 and never really experienced that period. LOVE for the energy and openess of this singer and her band. Really special. And you felt the vibe through the video and music, she possesed the crowd as a witch... Wow!

Beth is a woman who needs no sequins, no perfect hair, no lipstick on her lips and no glittery clothes...except in exceptional cases. She is a true amazing voice, her hands on the keys of the piano or on the strings of a guitar are MUSIC.Her soul is full of color and she conveys to the audience and, love, pain of memories, fear of having to stop and start again, hope and gratitude. Those who love Beth have understood everything about her and want to see and hear her sing. Love Beth ...From Italy.Roma.🤩🤩🤩

stumbled upon this today and love that you loved her too. she was closing the first live concert i went to in college which was a couple years before i think this was recorded, and i adored her music. a few years ago i saw her again in a small venue in DC. she got sober along the way between the two performances i saw, but she's still just as raw and vulnerable and good a performer and seems to be a lovely person. love sending folks her music for the first time, cheers. (the song leave the light on left me in tears)

What is amazing about that cover of I'd Rather Go Blind was that when she was asked to sing this for the album Don't Explain, she thought it was over done and it was. After people listen to her version of I'd Rather Go Blind, they forget about the million other covers of that song.

I saw her do a 20 minute set on Planet Rock's channel the other day - just her and a keyboard, singing material from her new album. DIVINE. She's been down some dark roads in her time, what with substance abuse problems and being diagnosed as Bipolar, but she's refreshingly honest since she got sober. She's a survivor. A BS-Free zone, if you will.

Little more mellow on stage. Her and Joe Bonamassa have great chemistry when they collaborate, her voice and his guitar are magic. You'll love thier last project " Black Coffee". Lot's of old R&B

I’ve been obsessed with Beth for years, and it’s an absolute sin that she isn’t more well know. She IS the music, and I’ve never seen another artist leave their soul onstage the way she does. She has some killer performances with Joe Bonnamassa, particularly I’ll Take Care Of You and I’d Rather Go Blind. The first songs I ever heard from her were Mama and Tell Her You Belong To Me. Your jaw will drop.

You are watching her live at the Paradiso, probably one of THE best live rock performances ever.I cannot believe people are saying she sings better now than she sang at this concert. This is her at her rawest and most primal. This is a woman who has been through the fire and come out reborn and possessed with spirit throughout her body. When she talks about "its just entertainment...right",she is saying I can go crazy here and let lose all my stuff and ain't no one gonna call me crazy. This is a woman who has tasted madness and come out to tell the tale with no apologies for her passion."don't you make me feel crazy if I break down and cry...."that literally is it...this is not planned, this is channelled....oh yeah and when people talk about her toning it down or not singling like that as much now, well how long would an artist last of they sang like that at every concert. She is older now and she has said herself she could not perform like that with that energy now.She still pulls it out the bad imo but I can understand why some might not get into her more recent stuff,it definitely seems toned down

Beth has won quite a few awards for being soooooo good at her craft. She's a total free spirit like Janis Joplin was I guess.. and I love it and find it highly entertaining. She's so impetuous.. and spontaneous.. she just leaves her audience in anticipation with what's coming next. Man alive has she aged like a fine wine with her vocal career too. Good golly .. she's amazing.. and her collabs with Joe Bonamassa.. phew.. mind blowing!!!! Anyways... I just wanted to say I think I found my most favourite of your reactions thus far!!! I was killing myself laughing at all of your reactions all the way through... it was sooooooooooooo much fun!!! While this performance was a bit shocking .. I loved how you just drew from all the best aspects of it.. and went with it... which I believe is the only way you can go with Beth!!! heheheh Thank you for the shear belly laughs and show casing such an incredible talent. I'm so glad Beth has come out on the right side of the many challenges this lady has endured in her journey.. but we are all the better for it. Now she just gets to be truly awesome beyond awesome. Just like you Rebecca!!! Thanks again for the fun and euphoria .... lol... you rock!!!

Ok, finally got to finish it. Great reaction. I even have a tattoo of her on me. Chills every time she opens her mouth. She is way different in performance these days but even better. And just an incredible songwriter. So glad you finally did one of hers. Been waiting for it.

Beth is a phenomenon on her own her music is stunning, her vocal talent is second to none, her writing is amazing. I was lucky enough to see her play a solo show at Islington chapel. She is simply stunning and every album that comes out takes you with her, I love her music so much. If you get the chance to see her live you gotta go, she is such a wonderful soul. She can be aggressive but she can be smoother than silk. Too many tracks to fully tell her story, I love "caught out in the rain", "st Theresa" and "Rub me for Luck" off her latest album is just unsurpassed.

You made my day. Thanks for doing this. She has the same carefree soul that you have. You get a chance you should see her playing the song Mama or Leave The Light On from the same show. She is also a very talented piano player.

I’d Rather Go Blind and I’ll Take Care of You with Joe Bonamassa are wonderful blues songs sung by Beth. Both are less raw than this performance but equally good and probably showcases her voice in a more ‘normal’ form, but still with that uniqueness that only she possesses.

I like Beth's studio songs well enough, but her live performances are absolutely captivating. She may not be the most technically perfect singer, but she embodies the music and gives depth and soul to whatever she sings. I would love to see you react to "Caught out in the Rain" at the Royal Albert Hall. There is a moment towards the end that gives me chills every time. I don't know of many singers that could pull off a performance like that. "Leave the Light On", also from Royal Albert Hall, is incredibly emotional. As others have said Beth and Joe are an awesome combination.

She was great very much reminds me of Janice Joplin , awesome performance , and thank you again Rebecca, I can see how hard you try and keep if PG and not swear , good job you look beautiful and happy as usual, thank you for making my day Rebecca Vocal Athlete, of yeah if you get a chance today can you watch a youtube channel called Roxanne globalist denier , it will be live about 10.pm and they catch up and have a chat about how the days events went on the Jason of the disbury family globe Lie tour , they have the chat room cranking and people from every conceivable walk of life , joining as one and trying to spread the truth , it is more than just about the shape of the earth it is one of those rare moments in history I would suggest that people are absolutely united and it is gathering pace , it shows people sacrificing a lot of themselves and supporting each other, it is touching and it is a beautiful watch , I consider a lot of these people family and if I can work out how to get on discord properly I will chat to a lot of them, the tour has been going for two and a half months now I think and it is gathering pace , I'm always active in the chat room, hard to shut me up actually , I think you will enjoy it actually , anyway thank you again Rebecca.
