Zack Snyder makes movies that are like the fake movies from Tropic Thunder. Snyder cannot tell a story. That's the problem. He makes facsimiles of movies and not actual movies.

You were kinder to the first 30 minutes than I was. I didn't like any of it, and I didn't like the "badass" fight where this girl takes out six guys. They had the chance to shoot her and either didn't or missed at point blank range. I hated this movie, every bit of it. Do you realize how many millions of dollars they spent for Turok Tarzan to ride Buckbeak? A lot. A lot of money for an absolutely ;pointless scene that has nothing to do with the ;plot. I will however watch the R cut to see if it is slightly better or even worse. I'm not sure which way it will go. I will also fast forward past most of it.

You do have a point about her being able to take on all those dude without breaking a sweat. Even though we didn't cover it in the finished video, we thought they did a decent job setting up the fact that she was trained to be a warrior. Even though it's still unbelievable, at least there was an ATTEMPT to give her a "bad ass female" a backstory, and not just lazy Mary Sue SJW shit. To us, she was more in the Emily Blunt from Edge of Tomorrow camp (in terms of training/backstory), rather than Rey Palpatine. And I completely understand why you'd even hate the first 30 minutes. It's not that we loved it- it just felt relatively competent compared to the rest of the movie.

I enjoyed the performances of Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, James Coburn and Charles Bronson in this movie. An intergalactic empire that needs to steal grain is totally believable! You realise that, according to Zach Snyder, HE would have been among the rapists? Now that's some subtle messaging right there.

G'day it's Steven from down under My goodness Firstly I'm "not" a Snyder fan but I'm not a hater either. What's going on in the world today? Everyone has a right to their own opinions but Wow, where's the subjective and fair attitude towards this movie making art from? I don't understand why there's a minority of haters out there, I enjoy a film or series based on its merits, and no one is going to tell me something is "rubbish" when it's not, in any case I'm pleased that Rebel Moon has been a success because it validates my enjoyment of this production. I will certainly not be revisiting this KZbin channel, I enjoy viewing and contributing to unbiased and factual content makers and sadly I haven't found it here. Wow

Hi Steve, I appreciate your civility while simultaneously saying our analysis is invalid. I can't say I can relate to the perceived "success" of a film validating my enjoyment of it. People like what they like and dislike what they dislike. However, you act as though we didn't back up our dislike with reasons that are rooted in what makes a good story. Character, plot, pacing, arcs, you know... the ingredients for competent storytelling. You, and everyone else that has liked this film, has backed it up with just saying that you like it. Very circular analysis. In all sincerity, I would love to know why you liked it and and how you justify that this is a good film. It would make for a much more interesting conversation on my end. Special effects do not make a film good, and since that's all this movie had going for it, I look forward to your unbiased and factual breakdown as to why this was a story well told. Thank you.
