Well if its any consolation the radio operators on these B-25's were RCAF. Since the U.S were new to the area Canadians flew with them to tell the British that they were friendly. That's the main reason why I chose this scheme.

As a kid growing up in the 60's, we never had much. But, now and then I would get a model car or plane. Man, I cherished those moments! Taking the time to read the directions, patiently putting it all together and marvelling at its design. Only to have my younger brother eventually get a hold of it and pull parts off it or destroy it completely. You talk about someone going ballistic...............

Beautiful work on a very sexy plane! My dad was nose gunner in a B-24 during World War II and second radio man. His plane had a mouse throwing a bomb on the nose. It was called Super Mouse! There were a lot of planes adorned with naughty nose art as well. I have many photographs of nose art that my dad took during the war.

That is really cool Scott. It's always fun to see comments like yours from people who have connections like this to aircraft. If I ever find the Hasegawa 1:72 B-24 for a good price, I think I'll consider making it the Supermouse. Since he was the nose gunner, I assume this was the B-24J variant?

Puts me in mind of the 1/72 Airfix B.25 I made (back 1968) based on the Psychedelic Monster - which was the 'form up' camera plane Spitfire Productions used on the (real world) filming of "Battle of Britain." They used the most lurid colour scheme they could think of and matching their colours was a right mission. Why? Because my father was a technician on the picture at Duxford (or North Wield) and he showed me a picture of their B.25. Wild. Your version is undoubtedly better but your vid' dragged up that long ago memory. Well done, Sir!

Excellent build! I always look forward to your build videos and have enjoyed every one of them. This kit is on my want list and I am glad to see it is a new mold Airfix kit (unlike the re-release of their old B-26 kit). In the past, I used to avoid Airfix kits, but the new kits are fantastic and great value. This looks like another well-engineered kit, but I do not like the marking choices that Airfix made. There were so many other aircraft/squadrons to choose from. Since most served in the Pacific at least one of the choices should have been from that theater. I will look for some aftermarket decals to replace them.
@rebelsatcloudnine6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Michael :D I agree completely, the schemes are a bummer. Although this "Desert Warrior" is interesting, I really wish they would have made the B variant (parts for that are included) and had a Dolittle raider or something. These options just don't really grab ones attention.

Thank you Duncan, and greetings from Alberta Canada :) I use a Tamiya HG Superfine III, but for a beginner airbrush there's nothing better than an Iwata NEO CN. This was the first airbrush that I used, and it lasted really well for it's 5-year warranty. I like it because it's a very new user friendly without being overly complicated as some more high-end brushes tend to be. And you can get some really great results with it. I don't know the manufacturer of my compressor, on the other hand, it's a simple generic (and noisy) compressor. It shoots about 25 PSI so that's basically all that I need, I have a control on it for less air.

@@duncankent1330 That's a really good point, as a lot of learning to airbrush is trail and error, and that includes maintenance of the airbrush.
