Great topics! For me once the relationship is over I naturally scrub my accounts of pictures of them/us. Might be backed up on my phone/laptop but sometimes those get deleted too. I've never done it for another person. It's something I personally feel is necessary for myself. No hard feelings but it's what I do to move on. I too was born in the 80's. I have physical copies of pictures but I've also shredded some too. I don't want an archive of memories with an ex on my social media. I can go even further. For years I kept a box of trinkets and different things from over the years and one day I said it's time to let this stuff go. I believe in certain relationships we can remain bound to people when holding on to items and different things they gave us. That energy might keep you from moving on. It feels good to clear it all out.

In order for relationships to work there as to be submission on both ends…once you’re in a relationship it becomes “we”. For whatever the reason if there is a request to compromise both parties should meet in the middle . Ego has to die for love to work.

i like how Aina tried to shift her perspective when it came to the whole photo thing because the other ones views on keeping photos of your ex online is just completely ignorant and immature, especially for a 40 something year old. if you want to be in a healthy loving relationship where you are taken seriously by your partner then you should be considerate and emotionally mature. just my thoughts lol

So Nelcia.. What if the person you were dating let's say her ex was only a year an ex whom she dated for 7 years and now you are dating her and it's been 8 months in for the 2 of you.. It's becoming serious and on her profile platform she still has pictures of her ex of only a year and know because she decides she now wants to express herself and to her friends and family on her social media pictures of the 2 of you.. So even though it's been a year from the ex and what if she doesn't post a lot.. Are you ok with her having pictures still posted of the ex which could have very well been the last picture she had posted.. Now here comes her posting a picture of you or the two of you right next or just before the last picture she posted.. Would you be ok with you and the ex picture posted right after each other.. Or is there a timeline.. I don't post a lot on my platforms but I had a ex whom I was better as being a friend than us in relationship and she absolutely had a problem with me having pictures of my ex and me even still being friends.. I absolutely thought that was crazy.. But I respected her to how she felt so I get what you saying also.. I just think it's all about how that person whom your dating feels and it's about compromising..

No I wouldn’t have a problem… there is a timestamp on that photo and it was before me. For me, it doesn’t say that she is holding on to the person. She could show me in action if she’s holding on. So I won’t rely on her timeline to answer ANY questions on how she feels about an ex. But hey that’s just me 🤷🏾‍♀️ I’m positive I’ve never asked anyone to take down an ex from their platforms.
