My buddy started drag racing the family Chevy Caprice in 1969 at 14 years old. He built his own engines and after getting a bachelor degree opened a engine shop. I'd stop after work and clean the shop and tear down. He knew everything about engines and was the go to guy for all performance engines. Your son has a bright future.

Really Cool man, thank you to @CostexTractorParts for sending you all that shiny gold! Wow seeing the Ford tractor in that just-painted condition goes to show how long ago this Cat engine project got started - back in the beginning of fridgid winter! Thankfully, it's now getting to be beautiful summer, sun-shining every day - I love it!🌞 I like the red overspray marking it's territory in the garage there too.😅 Thanks for taking us along Tyler! Can't wait to see it back in its comfy home & the 'will it start' video!🤔 Your son is a lucky boy, gonna be growing up alongside you starting to get greasy & dirty while still in diapers 👍🏻 Keep up the great work man! 👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩⛓️🚜🏗️🛢️

Which negates the retaining compound. You can try an oven. 300F would be max temp. Be quick though. Once it makes contact you have very little time before it gives up its energy to the crank.

@steeringwheelholder24834 ай бұрын
The water makes tiny air bubbles and they stick to the sleeve and when they pop they start eating away at the liners and you will actually get oil in the water cause the piston coming up on competition stroke and the small amount of oil that fills the hole gets pushed threw in too the cooling system I had a Detroit 60 18 wheeler do it to me years ago

You wrecked the rear seal the instant you took it apart and just went down hill from there. You need the cat tool to install both pieces at the same time to a specific depth. Read the book... Also your gonna have fun taking it off... those seal go on DRY
@dieseJL6 ай бұрын
Yeah good to know... I will review the manual and maybe try again. I ended up going with a rubber lip seal, watch the next video and see if you think I got it right or not haha. If not I will get the tool and try again before I throw it in the machine. Thanks!!
@52Monster6 ай бұрын
to late to tell you you messed up the seal sleeve for the rear seal. The seal and sleeve should be installed after the rear cover is on. looking forward to seeing you find it in part 2.
@dieseJL6 ай бұрын
make sure you watch part 2 and see how I ended up doing it. If you think it's still wrong maybe I will take apart and redo.

I've heard you shouldn't use an extension with your ratchet. Only use a deep socket.
@ShainAndrews6 ай бұрын
I'm assuming you are making some misplaced torque comment. If so you are wrong.
@rdallas8112 күн бұрын
@ShainAndrews depends on the situation. If torque is ever a question, always check with torque measuring device. Torque specs are very important and not adhering to OEM specs can result in injury, part failure, improper wear, and destruction.

I'm thinking the engine with no bearings in the last piston hole might have been ok had you not started it. Like crawling underneath and removing the oil pan and looking at this bearing. One would have had to have been told about this however.

You don't need locktite on those slip sleaves. That's being too anal. Just heat them up in hot oil and slip them on. They won't migrate during their lifetime.

3M silicone grease. Can usually find it at parts stores. It is my o-ring lubricant, dielectric grease, & brake grease. Hands down the best brake grease I have ever used.
