Either that or get a couple color matched spray cans and shoot ‘em with that. Doesn’t have to be perfect, just blend it better. The red and green together are rough

Hey buddy, if i were you and this is your dream build, get the body shop to make you a couple of spray cans of british racing green, take a scuff pad and scuff the red interior metal parts and spray them with the spray cans so it has a matte british racing green interior. That would transform this car immensely and give it a complete look even if there are panels hiding some things.

The difference a paint job and outer tail lights can do for these eg hatches. Night and day difference. It is coming along extremely well. Love it!

I think the red door jambs give the civic some character 😄 Imagine red bucket seats and red carpet with a red removable racing steering wheel looks cool and different from all Hondas out there , distinctive is the word👌 nonetheless Good Job am definitely following the build keenly 👌🤜👍👍

That’s actually impressive bodywork for Maaco. I had a car done by them a long time ago and it was horrible. Over spray on the windows and wheels..I turned the AC on and literal paint chips came blasting out.

You did a great job with the civic , the only thing i wish you would change would be to get rid of the hood dump setup and make it go into a full exhaust out of the back of car, but as you already painted it i guess you wont be doing that. Loving the progress any idea on the wheel and tire setup you will be using?

when repainting cars theres some rules i like to follow if your not going to paint the engine bay/ door jams thats ok just make sure the oem color of the car is already simple like white/silver/black and you can paint the car literally whatever color and the door jams wont look awkward. if your car is red paint the car a color you like but also compliments the red/ oem color of the car. the red on green looks extremely weird to me and it would piss me off but i understand its a budget build and its cool. maybe in the next video take the time to sand down all the door jams and the trunk and the hatch jams and paint it black, get a couple cans of spray paint and paint any red parts/ jams black it will look 100x better

Great build. The car is going to be amazing. But…..yes the door jambs. I don’t think I could live with that. Plus….the exhaust through the hood. Could it have gone through the side fender with like a metal plate around it? I’m not feelin the pipe coming out of the dented hood wrapped with cloth or whatever. but, I have no room to talk, I don’t do what you do. I’m looking forward to seeing the wheels. Nice job.

I paid $700 for a Maaco paint job last year. I'll be honest I was VERY happy with the results. The worst parts were the parts where I sanded too far

ALso to answer the door jamb question, if the original color isn't Black, door jambs ABSOLUTELY bother me. Even if it's bright red jambs and darker red body it would tick me off.

You probably could get a spary can of the same coler from your local paint store. Doin that little bit probally be just one can so it wouldnt be that expensive for to just scuff it down mask ot up and just spray ot while ots all together. Get a good spray can clear wirh harder in it. Cant remeber the brand. Texas honda chamnel uses it. The color does look good though but those door jams though shouodnt be no more than 100 bucks

Get the door jams and red stuff wrapped in black or get spray cans of BRG and do it that way. You have to at this point. The car looks good but as soon as you open the door and see red...

Dude people can talk all the smack on Maaco they want, but I had an EG hatch painted there for like right at $600 and it was an amazing deal for the money. Was it a perfect paint job? Nope. But it was 100x nicer than before and it held up for years. I’ve always heard that it just kind of depends on the person who’s doing the painting that day. Could be an old head with experience, or could be a young guy at his first job.
