www.transmissionpartsusa.com/A500_Direct_clutch_spring_compressor_alignment_p/300-0000t1318.htm The alignment tool, and maybe the press tool also, can be found cheaper on eBay

Dumb question time...Is the alignment tool the same size/spline count as the output shaft of the main transmission? Maybe output shaft isn't the correct term on the 46RH but it would be the output shaft if it were an old 727 I guess. I'm just thinking that if a guy had an old output shaft from a 727 that could be used as an alignment tool if it were the same size. Cheaper way to do it if you are a Torqueflite hoarder like me. :)

Yes it is, as far as I know. I tried to find one in my local pic-a-part to try and make my own before buying this one,

Awesome. Pretty sure I have one here. I’ve done plenty of 727s but this is my first 46rh, your video was very helpful. That overdrive doesn’t seem near as intimidating.

Not once you tear into it....I was worried about opening that thing up, but once I did I was like, "Oh..that's it?"

That was my thought exactly while watching your video. It’s just another clutch pack. No big deal, just be aware of that spring.
