I have exactly the same steel bottle. I made a two-layer fleece cover for it as heat protection. You can boil water in this bottle directly over a fire, brew tea in it, and then place it in a case to keep the drink hot throughout your walk. It also protects things from soot. I even cooked soup in this bottle and ate it with a spoon; it goes inside well due to the wide lid. The bottle in the case can also be used as a heating pad. This is an amazingly functional survival tool if you are not afraid of getting it dirty with soot =)

First time I have seen you do a set up and tear down video. Enjoyed it very much. There is a camp site by my home town of Ely Minnesota. USA. One of the camp sites are on Fenske Lake. In of them has a rock ledge shoreline in the lake. It is a great view with great fishing. I think of it often when I watch your videos.

Your forest is looking just like our forest here in Nova Scotia. Pretty impressed with the flint and steel to light your stick stove Tom, very nice to watch you do that. I love getting out in the snow but haven't developed a system for winter camping yet for overnighters. You remind me to get practicing more with my tarp too. Thanks for sharing Tom. A pleasant little video Tom! Different camera shots.👍👌 💭With a traditional little ground fire, a tarp helps shield it from the wind. That's a cute little Esee Izula neck knife Tom, I have one just like it. I leather dyed the tiny micarda scales black to match the black oxide finish on the blade. They are sweet little knives, so handy to have it right there on my chest, ready for use. Great edc knife if one's country allows it. Happy New Year, Spring is coming! 🪷

Hello Tom. Hope you had a wonderful Holiday. You actually have more snow than we do here in Minnesota. Normally by now we have at least a foot of snow and have had some 30 below F. Days. I am not complaining at all. Lol. We do need snow on the ground to insulate water and sewer pipes

Nice way to put up your tarp. Making shelter should be the first thing you do, It's protection from wind and a sudden rain. Using cheaper whiskey makes a lot of sense since the taste gets lost in the coffee.👍🏻 Another great video with snow! ATB

Thank you Tom and very good point's on the shelter as a wind break . You have to have some prep for some situations most bush crafting or getting out of a bad spot.Whisky is good cheap is some times better than Expensive whisky..

I am glad you are doing well my Brother , We got a little snow here in North Arkansas the other day , And there calling for more this weekend . I am hoping it goes north of us . When I was young I loved the snow , It was a great time to hunt . Now that I am getting older I do not care about for it , It makes my bones hurt anymore . We have had snow then ice , The water to the house is froze , Luckly we knew ahead of time and have plenty of water put up for such things . And now after a few days of all that we are getting rain rain . LOL , Yep , That's winter in the hills of Arkansas . I was born and raised here and know what to expect , We have food to eat and propane for heat , If the power goes off we have a generator to make our own power . We are doing well , If I was young again I would be hunting in this weather , Now I stay inside where it is nice and warm . When I make “cowboy coffee” I always put my grinds in with the cold water, then let that come to a boil….that usually takes the bitterness out!
