@KayCato - I originally tried the Classic controls...and they are ok. Very close to what I expected, but then I struggled with combos. So now I'm back to the Standard controls and slowly getting used to it, but it's tough! I played SSX 3 for a year solid, and now I need to reprogram my brain!

I would consider your review style to be the best! I like the idea that a game is either fun or not so great. Your innocuous approach towards video games is a trait that most reviewers do not exhibit. Keep up the great work.

In a weird way, one thing I like about you is that you don't know everything about every videogame and system ever made, like many other game reviewers. Many would call that a bad thing, but I actually find it refreshing. Great vid.

Got to say that I also like to see the gameplay footage as you talk about the games. I can quickly see what kind of gmae it is and it makes it far more interesting than most of the other 'games I bought' vids.

@sylentknyte - Thanks! I know quite a bit about PC gaming in the 90s, with companies like Spectrum Holobyte, SSI, Microprose, LucasArts, and Sierra obviously... However, it's so exciting to be collecting games for consoles I never owned back then. It's all new to me!

WOW. an intellivison. This was my first console. I was really young (like 4-6 years old). I wish I'd still have it, oh well. At least I kept all my consoles since the Genesis ^^ And since then I have gotten me a lot of older and newer consoles. Great pickups. Consider me a new subscriber (I'm amazed that I never bumped into your vids before) Oh and it's great to finally see a gamer that can appreciate vinyl ^^

I always enjoy your pickup vids, don't stop putting them out just because everybody else does them. Yours are the best. - My favorite genre is shooters (2D). you gotta check out Zanaz on NES. Cheap and one of the best shooters on the system. Gun Nac is a sequel of sorts but more rare. Compile is the developer. One of the best shmup developers.

@yoeycrack1 - I no longer professionally review games...so I don't have a Sony Press contact anymore. Yes, I miss it when new hardware comes out...but then again, I now get to review and play the games that *I* want to. Yeeaaah Raiden IV! I just got that recently too! That pinball game on Turbo Grafx looks pretty interesting too. I always wanted Mischief Makers too. Treasure games are really good. I am also glad you picked up R-Type Final, the game has insane replay value because of the ships you unlock, and alternate routes in stages. I think because you are such a shmup fan you should really do R-Type Final first. It's a gorgeous game and really underrated.

Just found your channel today. Great stuff so far. I just had to comment because I that you said the new SSX (Didn't know there was one. Strangely, I just got done with a session of SSX3 a half hour or so ago) is too simulation based and then proceeded to show a clip of crazy XXTTREMMEE blurry footage ;-) I've only played SSX3 so who knows..

Wonder Boy III is a great game! It actually also was released for the Sega Game Gear and there was a port for the game on the TurboGrafx-16. That version was called Dragon's Curse. Good version of the game, so you could definitely look for that one too!

Ghost in the Shell on the PS1 is without a doubt one of my faves on the console. Has a control style and graphic style similar to the Mega Man Legends games, which I LOVE. It's a truly epic game. Very short, though. You can beat it in a sitting if you really want to!

omg Plok was literally my favourite game as a kid. And every time I tried explaining it to someone, they just looked at me like I was crazy. @MetalJesusRocks The technical side is where i don't have much experience. But first things first is clean the cartridge port real good with a contact cleaner. Clean all the carts good. Use one of those direct connect things instead of the switch box. etc. And just like 2600 games some games just won't come on fully inserted. Sometimes you have to wiggle them out a hair on one side or the other. If it's something more technical ask in the Intellivision forum at Atariage.
