I love Elantris, I found it so special and unique....but my husband hated it so it's def a book that can be on both ends of the spectrum for readers.

Sounds like you had a good reading month! I hope you enjoy the last Daevabad book. I think it was my favorite in the series. I just finished the Orilium Magical Readathon by Book Roast. I enjoyed a lot of them, but a new series I found through it has a first book called Steal the Sky, which is an adult fantasy-sci-fi that centers around a airship heist and has some fun Firefly vibes. I hope I see it around BookTube more. :)

I really liked the way that you can tell Elantris and Emperor's Soul are on the same planet. Like they both have their own magic systems, but they're very related and similar in their base. Also all of the colonialism and genocide that was built into the background details. Definitely my fav Sanderson I've read (I've read all the Cosmere except SA and also Legion)

What a great TBR!! I LOVED The Lost Metal so much it locked Era 2 in over Era 1 for me. Besides, Steris is my spirit animal. I’m reading The Shadow Cabinet and The Will of the Many right now (both excellent) but I’m itching to get into Warbreaker.

I've recently read a book that I'm almost sure you'll love! Malfus : Necromancer unchained by Casey Sutton. I've gotten an arc on Netgalley and it made me think of Guns of the Dawn so much! It also reminds me of Abercrombie's writing.

I've read Big Lies in a Small Town! I've read 5 books by Diane Chamberlain. So far, two of my favorite are: The Last House on the Street and The Stolen Marriage.

I finished the poppy war yesterday and I love it! Not like the best book I’ve read but I definitely enjoy it. I’m halfway through a fire endless, second book to the elements of cadence duology, so far so good!

I loved the diviner series! The antagonists in each book were pretty scary. Although the last book in the series was my least favorite. The audiobook was super good, i highly recommend

I really enjoy the Emperors Soul. I thought the magic system made me think of some parts talking about Shadesmar in Stormlight

I am glad you enjoyed The Three- Body Problem. I have yet to read book 2, but I heard that it is hitting you the hardest with science stuff. I am not bothered by not understand much about it. I just read over it :P I will have to check out Diane Chamberlain. And Brandon Sanderson wise I also have yet to read Elantris, The Lost Metal and The Emperor's Soul plus his lattest secret project. I am not a huge fan of Mistborn Era 2, but I loved the first trilogy and am quite a big Sanderson fan.

I’m curious to see what you think of The Diviners. At first I had some trouble with some of the repetitive sayings the MC had related to the time period the story is taking place in that annoyed me, but then I did end up liking the book and wanting to try the next one.

Hi there Jessie How are you doing? I have picked up the first book in the Tower of Babel series by Josiah Bancroft, and after only listening to the first chapter of book 1, I felt no gumption to go any further. I forgot about the characters and everything else the moment I put the book down. So, I don't blame you for dnf'ing it. Meanwhile, I really enjoyed listening to Elantris. Sanderson shows how great his character work is and how organized he is in his writing. Just this past Saturday, I finished listening to the Final Empire Mistborn for the second time. It was so good. I will be listening to book 2, the Well of Ascension during the month of September. I am also about 42% into reading the Kindle book while listening to the audiobook of Ruination the League of Legends by Anthony Reynolds, which has been awesome. The audiobook was done with a full cast which makes the story come alive and my mind. Apart from that I have started reading the Kindle book while listening to the text to speech feature read out loud to me the full metal panic light novel Volume 2. That has also been a great read. I watched the anime many years ago and I still really love the story to this day but I've never read the material was based on.

Really? Are you just at the beginning stage of the chapters? Cause Hrathen is the heart and Soul of Elantris, some would even say he is one of the best Character Sanderson has written and his Chapters and his POV story is the best part of Elantris. I loved the princess story in the beginning but her chapters kinda become meh after some point. Hrathens chapters will become more compelling and interesting

The middle part of elantris def goes on way too much. Sarene has the longest chapters of the main characters and i found her kinda bland. Karata for as little as shes in it i found her more interesting lol.
