I am glad you enjoyed greenbone saga. It is my all-time favorite trilogy. I was bumped when the adaptation deal fell through and now I kinda want it to be an animation of some sort because I think that will give the creators much room for creativity. Hopefully, the adaptation will materialize in my lifetime.

Nice to have a video from you, it made me happy ❤ I totally agree with you 100% on all you said about the Greenbone saga, for me it got better and better with every book and Jade Legacy was just wonderful! The novella is good too, not as good but it was fun to spend more time with the characters and have some very interesting revelations. I can't wait to see what Fonda Lee writes next. I am currently reading the Tyranny of Faith and I am enjoying it but I am having similar feelings to you, so it kjnd of made me nervous 😅 but i also enjoyed The first one a lot so i will have to finish to see for myself… *fingers crossed*

Sooo happy to see that Jade Legacy lived up to the hype for you! I felt exactly the same about that finale, and I am honestly still recovering. You should also definitely read Jade Shards, the collection with the four short stories. I loved getting that glimpse of all my beloved characters before the series started. Also, not gonna lie that this makes me feel a bit better about DNFing the Empire of the Wolf after book 1. I had similar concerns as you, so I am glad I cut my losses early. Hope you are reading great books right now! Lots of love 🥰🥰

Although I miss having your videos to watch regularly, the plus side is how excited I am when I see you’ve posted a new one!! So glad to hear the first novella brought back your love for Skyward! I’m hoping to start that series this year. I also want to read The Green Bone Saga-I hope to fall into the side where you fell on that one!!

Brit Marie Was Here is so underrated! It's one of my favorite Backman books. I read it after My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You I'm Sorry. Brit Marie is a side character in that one (in my opinion it's not as strong as a book) and I loved the progression you get of how she appears to others and then the journey she takes herself. Glad you liked it!

My most recently read book was The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker. I read it with my sister, and we both absolutely loved it!! It takes place in late 1800’s - early 1900’s New York, and is absolutely fantastic! I am reading Emily Wilde right now and am enjoying it, but, I too, care little for the footnotes😅

I also loved Justice of Kings but then really didn’t like the direction bk 2 went and decided to DNF the series. The Green Bone Saga on the other hand was fantastic to the end! In terms of recent great reads, A Song for Arbonne was my first Guy Gavriel Kay book and was so special of an experience

Re. Justice of Kings series - I agree completely. I loved the first book, it was one of my top reads of 2023. I really enjoyed the law and trial aspects, I felt that Richard Swan's experience as a lawyer really shone through. I got an ARC for Trials of Empire so I will finish it, but it has really been a slog for me. I am at about 75% now and I find it didn't pick up until around the 50-60% mark. If it wasn't an ARC, I absolutely would have DNF'd it around the same point you did.

So glad to hear you loved Jade Legacy... I LOVED this Saga and it is my #1 Fantasy series 💚 I had no intention of reading Ali Hazelwood again after disliking The Love Hypothesis, but her last two books had topics that interested me... Check & Mate and Bride... And I loved these two

So happy you enjoyed the end of the Jade trilogy, and that you've had some good books lately! Also, I see the tainted cup in the background right behind the featured books - I picked that up too and am hoping to get to it soon!

Hi! Good to see you again. I also loved The Love Hypothesis and felt a little meh for Love on the Brain. I enjoyed reading about the work setting (What a dream to be a girlboss at NASA. If only I had half a brain for it 😂) but the romance itself was not all that. My favorite recent reads so far has been Saga and then Empire of Silence and The Way of Kings. I am going to pick up The Women by Kristin Hannah next and I think that will blow me away since I always love her books. Best wishes to you and your family 🥰

I need to finish Jade War... I absolutely loved Jade City but some of the explicit content makes me cringe every time. I will eventually find the motivation but it is unfortunate to have so many details in those scenes.

Have you read “my grandmother asked me to tell you she’s sorry” cause that’s where I met Britt Marie
@ivingzuniga84110 ай бұрын
Hi Jessie! I’ve also had Britt Marie Was Here in my shelves for agessss. I think 6 years now. I’ve been putting it off cuz only after buying it I got told I’m supposed to read another book first. Something about my grandma says she’s sorry, or something like that. What are your thoughts about that?
@Montie-Adkins10 ай бұрын
I DNF Jade City simply because I was expecting fantasy kung-fu and it was a crime family drama.

as always, love listening to your reviews, jessie! i’m actually even more curious about the justice of kings series now. and green bone saga, of course. and i definitely should finally pick up a frederik backman book! if only days came with many more hours..😢 you spacing out on the details of why the ali hazelwood wasn’t a shouting-from-the-roof-tops read was so relatable! i’m glad you kept the part in the video. funny and relatable. without logging my reads into goodreads i’d manage to even forget about reading a book.🫣 have a lovely day and many 5 star reads!💜
