I love Corned Beef Hash and I love the Slow Cooker so this recipe popped out at me. Kudos to you, all of the Corned Beef seemed to go into the cooker, that would never have happened with me, I would have had a nibble lump or two :-). I also like my potatoes an agricultural size and not minced up. Until now I have made this on the Stovetop and I have added a slack handful of frozen peas towards the end. I noticed you had the hash in a pot in the Slow Cooker, I have never done that before, will now.

I know this is 2 years old but that isn't a pot in the slow cooker. It's the tiers that are in the cooker if you look at it when she is putting the onions and carrots in. It's a bit of an optical illusion. I wouldn't recommend putting another pot inside the slow cooker.

@@critchley999 Well the good news is that I have not yet made CBH in the Slow Cooker. The bad news is that 2 years have dissappeared 🙂 and it's a high time I did. I have cooked something in a slow cooker in another container btw. The thing acts like an oven I suppose. I regularly Bake Potatoes in the slow cooker. I used to put them on a trivet device but now I just wrap them in either kitchen towel or more rarely foil and cook on high for a couple of hous or low for a bit longer. Thanks for the reminder however I was wondering what to have for this evenings dinne/supper so now I think I shall give this a try. I generally par boil my potatoes for stove top. Think I will Pressure Cook some and then start after her 2 hour point.

@@jamesgoacher1606 Haha! I never expected to get a reply xx A couple of hours for a baked potato sounds a bit long winded. I do mine for 6 minutes in the microwave (depending on size) and then finish them in the airfryer for 7 or 8. Good if you decide on the spur of the moment and don't have time to wait. You can even cut down the time in the oven if you microwave them first til they have started to soften. Happy New Year to you xx

@RecipeThis I have been eaten canned Corned Beef out of the can ever since I was kid away back from the (1970s) & even to this day of the (2020s Twenty-Twenties) & even later on into the (2030s Twenty-Thirties) and beyond is that I would still be eating Corned Beef out of the can of course. Away back ever since from the (1970S) & onwards that my mother used make Corned Beef Hash but with Chopped Onion and a bit of water & served it with either Pasta Noodles &/or Boiled Rice, Mashed Potato. But when I left home I make &/or cook my very own Corned Beef Hash with a Couple of Cans of Corned Beef into a Pan &/or Saucepan & then add Chopped Onion & then add Water & if the texture is too watery for my Corned Beef Hash THEN I do mix both Corn Flour & a bit of Water in a Cup & then add it to my Corned Beef Hash and then stir it until it thickens & if you want Curried Corned Beef Hash then add Curry Powder with both of the Corn Flour & Water &/or just simply add the Curry Powder itself straight into the Corned Beef Hash & stir it while cooking of course. I also do make my very own Corned Beef Sandwiches just simply by using the canned Corned Beef & then add the Corned Beef from the Can on my Slices of Bread as Sandwiches of course.

Mum always added mushrooms, gravy and lentils to thicken served in a yorkshire pudding for Sunday dinner, it was and still is the best way to serve it.

Where’s the stock or gravy?
@Recipethis2 жыл бұрын
It really doesn’t need it but you could add in some gravy at the end if you prefer. Don’t worry it’s not dry.

Forget the Corned beef key. Use an ordinary tin opener but on the side rather than the top. The corned beef comes out easier and you get to keep your fingers :)
