The plastic slider insert missing on ours and back wont go back.

This could not have come at a better time. I have this exact same love seat and the recliner on one side needs to be removed and serviced. The mechanism binds up and won’t stay in the closed position.

I have a La-Z-boy Felix rocker recliner. The screws that connect the swivel base to the wooden base keep getting their heads sheared off. Do you have any suggestions?
@reclinerrepairguy415522 күн бұрын
@wardn53 - Those fasteners need to be pretty tight, not just snug. See this video for a demo that includes tightening those screws -----> kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmTYfHebpsuli9k Install a new set of fasteners as shown, then check them about once a week to see if they're still working themselves loose (that's how/why the heads snap off). Check the base joints as well, to make sure everything is in good condition and not somehow putting excessive stress on those fasteners. If the screws are staying tight & the bases all look good, my guess is that the chair is getting some extreme rocking or other unusual forces that are causing the heads to snap.

I have a lazy boy recliner style 41U7222. It’s an oversized recliner. I requested and received the replacement parts for the footrest. However, when I began to put it back together I noticed that it was not exactly the same as the original parts. I contacted Lazy boy and they said that the correct parts were sent and then said that they would send a tech to assist for a charge of 199 dollars. Have you experienced them sending the wrong parts? I am not exactly dumb and took photos as I took the recliner apart but it’s still not working properly. The plastic part that assist the foot rest up and down loses contact with the metal part causing the foot rest to flop down.

@BrianAdkison-xw4vl - Yes, receiving the wrong part(s) is not uncommon. However, one has to be able to determine whether the replacement part is different because it's an updated version of the original, or whether they simply sent the wrong part. If you took photos of the old part, simply take photos of the new one for comparison. Send them over to La-z-boy so that they can see they don't match up.

@reclinerrepairguy4155 I’ll take it back apart and send it to them. I’m not going to let them try and get their 200 dollars

We have a 15 year old recliner that does not have a side handle or release. It has become very difficult to recline and un-recline. Do you have any advice on this type of recliner?
@reclinerrepairguy4155Ай бұрын
@galvinpdx - 2 things to check, are whether the reclining mechanism is loose or the unit is bent. Bends typically appear in the scissors that extend (open) the footrest. Loose areas can be mechanism parts that are fastened together & have come loose, or where the mechanism mounts to the furniture frame. If you find both, tighten all loose areas to see if the mechanism operation improves. If not, install a new mech.

@@reclinerrepairguy4155 you were spot on. The mechanism was severely bent at the scissors. Now to call Lazy boy to see if the still have parts for a 15 year old chair. 😬

How about La-Z-Boy “bearing bracket sub assembly” replacement? I have received parts from La-Z-Boy with the following catalog numbers: 42970069-00L 42970069-00R Do you have a video that covers this procedure?

@bobzwood - Not at the moment, sorry.

Can you point me in the place where I can get new heavy duty mechanism
@reclinerrepairguy41552 ай бұрын
@eltoros2779 - Replacement mechanisms are typically available from the recliner manufacturer or perhaps one of their dealers. However, heavier-duty versions of these mechanisms are not usually an option. But hey, it never hurts to ask!

The fact that that *plastic* part is not available separately is criminal. It's such a simple part that it could easily be replaced with a hand-fabricated metal part (it's just a short tab with 2 holes in it FFS). Anyone, or any company, claiming to have any "green" cred that pulls crap like this should be publicly exposed and a class-action suit filed. Of course it's all put together with chipboard so...

Why is that piece plastic at all? It holds so much tension. Do they make most of their money on repairs?
@reclinerrepairguy41557 ай бұрын
@reboundthecat1523 - Those are questions only the manufacturer can answer. ;)
