You didn’t have to remove it from the app and reinstall it after you did the restart? I’m nervous about trying this. My wifi changed so I want to reconnect it so I can control it from my app.

That didn’t help me cause we changed our router. So day 3 and we still can’t figure out how to connect it to the new one. We now totally removed it from our goggle account and it won’t recognize it to add it back 🎃

You have to delete the first set up and do it all over again using the new router password..!! Then follow the setup instructions.! Hopefully this helps

I changed my router and created a new ssid. I had to factory reset the nest thermostat. At first when you add a device, you'll need to hit add different device then scan the barcode on the back of the thermostat then set it up as if doing so for the very first time. Pain in the ass for being a "smart" thermostat..

@@kimberleybosso4195 make sure your WiFi is working properly . Reset the router before you reset the nest thermostat. I’ve had mine for over 3yrs now and no problems

Again first go to settings, then to reset your device… then set it as a new device, connect to your wireless network, insert password and it should work… bye the way google home allows you to access your thermostat away from home seemingly. The nest app is very problematic..!!
