Father, please help them in their marriage, relationship and the day-to-day challenges with 4 kids. Protect their hearts and show them small steps toward full restoration, for their victory and ultimately for Your glory and honor. In Jesus Name, Amen💛

Erin you are such an inspiration to me. Your attitude, desiring to connect with your husband, goal being intimacy, longing to know what s going on inside your husband, doing everything possible just to connect with your husband is just amazing. I like that.

I’m having a hard time being emotionally vulnerable because we’re only a year out from infidelity in a brand new marriage. When I feel that we’re doing better in that area (forgiveness, reconnection, etc) inactive listening or trite answers seem to set me back into hesitation/self-protection mode. Please pray for us

Thank you for this. My husband and I connect well and we pray together before bed and in the car before leaving our house. But, sometimes I feel like I have to initiate some habits for our spiritual intimacy. Any suggestions?

"Irreconcilable differences" is a common reason for divorce. But can you somehow live with these fundamental differences and stay married? Could you do a video on staying married with irreconcilable differences? Or how to live with someone who does not believe in compromise?

Thanks for your suggestion, Jenni. We'll definitely pass it along to our producers. In the meantime, this article may offer some help (bddy.me/354jLQ3), and you're also welcome to discuss your situation with one of our counselors. Just call 855-771-HELP (4357) to set up a free callback. God bless you.

“You didn’t accept my influence”, that can feel like a lack of trust or like he feels I’m incompetent. I’m really sensitive to implied insults... how do I get a thicker skin?

Great idea to kind of put your husband to bed after the kids - for night wives. It sounds funny but to give him that sacred time.

A big issue is when the wife understands this and the husband doesn't. How does she talk to him about this without being a manipulative, nagging wife? I can't tell him how to behave in our marriage. I have always assumed that's God's role. Unfortunately, we're 33 years in and we're still spinning our wheels. And more unfortunately, I'm done.

How do you connect with a spouse that says her dad will always be her number one man and she’ll never put you before her parents? She has her priorities where she wants them and we are not one of them. I get to live off the scraps.
@PeacefulWarrior000 Жыл бұрын
I would sincerely ask why she decided to marry if leaving and cleaving is not of interest to her when it's in the Word. I'd also ask her what makes her certain that her dad is perfect. In addition, I'd address fear, what the fear is of allowing her husband to be first. Is she afraid he'll be angry? Is she afraid she won't be protected in the same manner? What's the fear?
@SnookOnTheFly Жыл бұрын
@@PeacefulWarrior000 she feels guilty that he doesn’t have anyone but her. He says she’s his best friend. I don’t understand it either, but she was conditioned from an early age. She never saw a functioning marriage with her parents having five divorces between the two of them. The worst part is the finger gets pointed to me for calling it out. If I shut up and go along then everything is ok, but our kids and myself are in counseling because of the dysfunction that has been created out of this (not the only reason for counseling, but even the other reasons are a biproduct of this family dynamic).
