Hi Cathy…..I’m new to PACU (starting tomorrow)! I have been watching all your videos and signed up for your new PACU RN course. So far, I’m learning so much from everything you’ve put together. My background is ER and I haven’t done any floor work, so there’s a learning curve, but I feel more confident and prepared to start, having watched your videos and going through the course now. I still have 7 hours to go through the course, but I’m taking it in small increments so I don’t feel too overwhelmed. I’m so sorry you had to go through this surgery. That’s a rough recovery, and I’m hoping all goes well for you from now on! I will headed over to Patreon and sign up. Thank you for all of the very useful information. It’s so well structured and taught! You’re doing great work, keep up the awesome job! I’ll report back on how I’m doing in PACU after I get through the first month. I’m excited to start a new journey in nurisng at 50 years old! 😊

HI Jenny, Thanks for watching and commenting! I'm doing 100% better now! Although Surgical menopause is a whole other animal! LOL... Thanks for considering supporting the channel via Patreon, I actually ended the Patreon group 1/2023 due to low enrollment. I'm excited that you are enrolled in the PACU Nursing Basics Course! Enjoy! Stay in touch! Cathy

Will be getting a hysterectomy early 2023. I have a similar medical history. What you described is probably what my Dr will find. Thanks for sharing your recovery experience. Very helpful!

I had a robotic assisted complete hysterectomy 19 days ago. I’m finding it hard to find any information on when I can start exercising or stretching since I had little or no pain or discomfort or bleeding etc. I feel normal down there but am going crazy just sitting around. Any advice?

Hi Denise, most Surgeons will clear you for resuming exercise after the 8 week vaginal cuff check. Before then you are allowed to walk daily, follow your body’s intuition if you over do it you will become fatigued and could delay internal healing. When In doubt ask your surgeon. Do not resume running until you are cleared by a physical therapist that specializes in pelvic floor strengthening. The pelvic floor is not ready for that level of stress post-op and could lead you down a path of prolapse etc. Allow yourself time heal in the first 8-10 weeks. Best of luck to you! Cheers Cathy a great book on pelvic floor info is, Beating ENDO!
