Therabody recently acquired RecoveryPump and has relaunched their popular compression recovery boots under the name RecoveryAir Pro. They have two different models of these boots, the RecoveryAir and RecoveryAir PRO. The PRO is a more elaborate set of boots as it allows for specific customization of your recovery routine and also allows you to connect to Bluetooth via the RecoveryAir app. Therabody is well known in the athlete recovery space and this product in another great addition to their line of tools and devices.
These compression recovery systems are designed to increase blood flow and decrease lactic acid via pneumatic compression, getting you back to training and competing as fast as possible.

I'm 6'10", and these fit great and much better than the Normatec. I can get into them comfortably, and they go up to about 90% of my thigh which is plenty. Love them. The compression pants... can't get into those. :(

I am fond of alpine skiing, and after skiing, the hips get very tired and they require a lot of compression efforts. I don't quite understand why a negative gradient should be done, if, for example, zone 3 is made more compression forces (90) than the rest, it will not recover? Could explain

How long do you find battery life of this Recovery Air Pro version with those leg sleeves in practice? Just got mine and manufacturer's up to 240 minutes seems impossible. Getting maybe half of it with 50 mmHg pressure. Full charged battery will reduce to 3/4 with one 25 min session with 50 mmHg with both outlets for legs in use.

Thanks for the great review. I've watched several of your videos this past week as I decide on which compression boot model to get. I'm a runner hoping to get higher up in the Age Group categories. Right now the choice is between this one and the Rapid Reboot Regen. I think the main plus for these boots is the negative gradient with overlapping chambers. If this system is say 90% effective in removing lactic acid what percentage would you give the Rapid Reboot Regen if I had the settings at 120/110/100/90 for the feet/calves/knee/thigh respectivly? For me, I see more positives for the Regen in that I can get the hip attachment, it has higher mmHg for a massage feel when desired, and with the size categories, both me and my son can use the same boots.

You're correct on the upsides of this unit being the negative gradient and overlapping chambers. Additionally, it has a faster cycle time. I'd say the RR Regen would be similar in effectiveness at those settings, you're just losing a bit of comfort by not having the pressure gradient be as small. They are both fantastic products that each have their own benefits. If higher mmHg is something you're interested than you should lean toward RR. In terms of the hip attachment, you can get the pants for this one that would give you a similar experience.

@@weebanime_atx5483 I often lay down when I do a 45-minute session with the Rapid Reboot. I have yet to fall asleep though for two reasons. First, the device that controls the air is not quiet enough for me to be able to fall asleep. And second, I usually have the pressure up pretty high (100-140), so that is enough that I can't fall asleep, only rest.

Hello. Thank you so much for the in-depth review! I’m a 31 yo Firefighter/Paramedic, and ruptured my Achilles’ tendon in July. I was looking into something like this, not specifically for aiding in my injury but when I return to duty. In your opinion, do you think this would aid in swelling/stiffness?

Yes! I actually ruptured my Achilles almost 2 years ago as well and have a lot of calf tightness now and these help! Certainly more value to them beyond the Achilles recovery though!

Do you know if this has ever been used to treat lymphodema? I have lymphodema and of course I’d check with my lymphodema team before I purchased but I wondered if you knew whether this was ever used for this purpose. I asked my nurse about something on Amazon and she wasn’t keen because there was no continuous pressure (a gap between the foot area and the thigh) but these look far superior

Depends on what your main purpose for owning a pair of these is. If you’re trying to move fluids, then I think these are far superior for that purpose. If you’re just looking to get a squeeze/massage mimic, then I don’t think its necessary.

Just picked up the Pro. Sadly, when searching for my unit, nothing shows up in the app with the Pro hightlighted in Blue. Have asked therabody chat for assistance with no luck. Not sure what to do. Suggestions? (have reinstalled app. turned off and on bluetooth and removed other bluetooth devices from phone.

Since the sleeves (leg) are the same as the original recovery air system, would it be economically feasible to just get the main hub (recovery air pro) if one is trying to upgrade?

@@JazIsRaw no to both of your questions. While recovery air shows up, it is not compatible with the app. The additional attachments are only compatible with recovery air pro at the moment.

They both do a great job, but I prefer the pro version due to the precision you're able to apply to the individual chambers and the customization you have among the routines. FYI, they just launched 3 new sets of boots today as well so I'll be checking those out soon.

How tall are you? I see you’re using the Medium. I’m 6’3 so the Large on the heigh, but 36.5” outseam and 26” thighs so medium on the other 2 factors. Not sure which size to get. Thanks
