+9🎨 1-bit macintosh art :p . The final render is so nice, and so macintosh-like 👍 ; i guess people will forget than the first games made were 1-bit pixel arts games (with monocolor computer-screens). The green was the monocolor, technology of the screens on this time.

Every time you sneak in the black cats, you remind me of those old wooden village collectables from The Cat's Meow. On each painted block there is a black cat that can be found on them.

I'd be curious to see how the off-black/off-white palette you chose differs visually from stark-black/stark-white palette. Maybe a quick side-by-side next time, or even a comparison of a few subtly different one-bit palettes?

Flipping amazing. I’ve been trying to do pixel art. Finished a piece and realised that because I’d used a photo as the background layer and also using colour that it’s become a monumental task to animate it. It already took a really long time to place all the colours. I will give this a try. Thanks for sharing.

I went to Japan last year, and man I love how pixelart lends itself perfectly for Japanese streetviews. As a westerner, everything looks more 'pixely' in Japan. The proportions there are completely different to what I'm used to: the buildings, streets, parking spots, ... are smaller and more blocky, they use every space as efficient as possible. Which is applicable to pixelart aswell I think. Plus the cables hanging across the street, blocks for air conditioning hanging outside to save space inside, ... match the scifi-look. It makes for a slightly estranging look in real life, but fits perfectly in pixelart. All this because this scene reminds me of Japan, I'm guessing it IS Japan.

Thanks for the video, i always learn a lot watching how you create pixel art. But everytime i watch one of your video i always wonder how much time you've put into the artwork, imo it would be really useful to add a "total time spent" at the end of your videos. I can see that several hours at least were put into it but having a clear information would help a lot to understand your workflow. Also thank for showing so many different palettes in your videos. For people like me who struggle with color theory they're very helpful.

Great one! It sounds a bit nitpicky, but the tilted lines of the mid level roof, being in opposite direction, break a bit the illusion and the centre perspective "accelerate" too much in the middle. But maybe "unconventional perspectives" can be an idea for a future video!
