That is so dang perfect. If I didn't already have a real old one. But that doesnt mean I can't use another. Might be a fun gift for one of my crafty friends. I just sat down from a trip to dollar store. Oh well, I managed to spend every cent I had anyway

Well Noreen you out did yourself with this one.. If there was a winner for the most amazing DIY antique you would win. I really want to make one of these. What I don't want to do is buy all the supplies that I need and then not do it. I do that all too often. I have a really cute idea for the painting of it. So that is motivation for me to really do it. I was surprised you didn't use hot glue to hold the fan in the funnel. Keep it up you are amazing!

I'm loving it. I think I just might give it a whirl. Not for a while, I'm still trying to catch up on projects already started. Maybe during the summer. You know, that 4 - 6 weeks we get up here in Wisconsin before "Almost winter" hits. Right now we are in "Still winter" season. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. "Road construction" and "Terrorist" season will soon be upon us. 😬 Keep Smiling.

Oh my gosh Mini! Ypu know I'm ALL OVER THIS!! And when you were talking about the "something extra" I KNEW it was gonna be a cord. We are so each other!! Can't you see this in my room? And while I'm at, it how 'bout a 1950s turquoise one in my office! Funny thing, I had to go down the hill today and intended to stop at the DT on the way home but decided I was too tired and will just go tomorrow since I'll be out again anyway. Now I can get what I need for this! You said black on the blades first, then silver and vice-versa on the wreaths? I feel some FUN coming on! Thank you, love you!!

Not looking for a vintage fan, but this is a super adorable and authentic looking fan! Lol, I need to declutter my house… lol my sister arrived for a short visit, to see our parents, and get a few days of the current life demands the other two siblings and I are having…. Lol three girls, one many miles away, one working full time, and living with our 80 yr old parents, and me, living 25 mins from childhood home, but driving like crazy! As a surprise, my sister that came to visit, also a thrifty one, brought me a few gifts…. Lol, she recently asked what happened, where is the vintage fan I has in my old craft room, last house, since I moved……. How funny you post this, and I lost my cute fan???

That is so cute!!! I think I have everything but the wreath forms, even the black and white bungee cord, which I might just leave outside for a while to see if I can age it, maybe run it through the dishwasher. I think I will go with the 1950's bright color. I really appreciate you sharing your creative ideas with us.

I think it looks awesome, Norrine! And if someone who wasn't familiar with the "genuine" article saw it, I'm sure they wouldn't know the difference. I wouldn't replicate it myself, simply because we have enough knickknacks as it is, but I still think it looks cool. Great idea with the bungee cord, too. I wonder if you could make a little plug shape from Play-Doh or something to put on the end of the cord. Might not be able to have the 2 prongs, since that would be awfully fiddly, but even without those, it could add something to the look. Just a thought. Thank you for sharing this. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)

Such a cute idea! I was hoping you would put a cord, too. Love the yellow! My Grandma had a fan with more of an industrial look. the metal blades and base were a sort of mottled dark green and silvery color and felt like enamel over the metal. It worked for decades.
