10:20 If Ed is not lying, it’s because he got a voucher from an instrument store and bought a small guitar to travel more easily with a rucksack full of CDs, cables, and pedals. Over time, this became a trademark (Ginger Kid with a small guitar + doing beatbox).

Hi Ben! New subscriber here.. Im a big ed sheeran fan. I've been waiting for this video for sooo long. I saw some of your videos regarding the RC-505 and the nektar pacer. I was thinking about combining Rc-505 and the pacer to recreate ed Sheeran's loop station? what do you think? bec i saw the pacer has a record mode and play mode maybe you can assign the pedals on the pacer to have 4 tracks, a record/play button, Stop button, undo and clear.
@BenRowlandsMusic4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subbing! Yeah that's an interesting layout you are think of there! I think that could work, in certain looping setups! No harm in trying it out. Something to consider with the RC-505 is the maximum MIDI CC Commands you can setup. You have a total of 16 External Controller Assigns you can setup! Hope this helps you! All the Best, Ben

RC-50 is basically an RC-300 but with a few less features. 3 track loop station, half the price of an RC-300

Great video, I am totally new to looping, so the Boss RC300 is a still be a good choice even though it’s a little out dated now?.

Hey @david! I just saw your comment. I've used the Boss RC-30 for a few years now, and I still don't feel like I need to update :D! If your just doing simple loops the RC-300 should be more than enough. P.S. In the beginning Ed Sheeran used the RC-30 to loop guitar and vocals!

Awesome video dude. When seeing the versatility of the Headrush in videos like this, I wonder why it doesn’t cost four times as much as the RC-300...What are the Headrush’s downsides?

Omg..so much good info in this video. Great job! I have a question though, i am thinking about looping guitar and mic (or beatbox) butni want it to be independent. Does it mean i have to buy such an expensive beast to have possibility to route each instrument to its own lop track? I kind of hoped there could be cheaper loopers offering this.. thx!

I read some reviews on that Headrush Looperboard after this video and it's universally hated. Buttons wear out, and you can't really do what it says. Sad because this review looked awesome.
@WoozleEffect4 жыл бұрын
This is interesting, I was not under the impression that Sheeran had one loop track per input, I thought it was one output per input, and that third one was the combined output level. Interesting. I may have overcomplicate things. Lol
@BenRowlandsMusic4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I did too for sometime! I wonder if maybe on his Chewie Monsta Version 1 Looper. He tried that setup out! As I'm sure I seen a video once, with the style of setup you mentioned!
@WoozleEffect4 жыл бұрын
@@BenRowlandsMusic well, that leads me to my next question then... On the RC-300 I can put a guitar on Left and mic on Right inputs... And on each loop. The guitar stays on Left outputs and the micnon the right. When it the Headrush website says you can record hot to two stereo tracks or four mono tracks... I'm trying to figure out what that means practically. Can I do the same thing I do now on the RC-300 on all four tracks? Can a guitar in input 1 be the left channel of all four loops, and a mic be input 2 be the right channel?
@jeremyjameslv3 жыл бұрын
I use a Shure beta 58 and a 58s with a switch. I’m going to try putting a heavy gate and free up a channel. Does the looper have gate fx built in?

Hey Ben! Love your videos! They have been helping me a lot setting up my Boss RC300. I have a question about the Headrush; are you able to immediately start recording on track two after you record a loop on track one? (Like you can do on the Boss) When I looked at them a year or two ago, the reviewer said you have to wait for a full loop (measure) to play before you start recording on a separate track. Thanks for you time and knowledge!

Today i guess you should go for the RC-600 If you want most similar to Ed sheeran setup? Or am I wrong?
@MechanicalMarketer253 Жыл бұрын
Just got an RC-600myself. If you set it up correctly, you can get something pretty close to Ed’s setup. I’ve only been experimenting with the settings for a few hours as I type this, but so far I’m pretty happy with the results.

Hey man. I play looping myself. But I have a little problem and I was hoping you could help me. I have a Boss RC-30 that works well, I usually plug it into a mixer and my guitar (martin Lx1e) and they sound good in the speakers as well. When I plug in my vocals mic it sounds very low but also very strange. It does not sound like a microphone should do. That's the problem I have. Is there a problem with the loop pedal? I have tested other microphones as well although they sound the same. Hope you see this.!
@eliaguitarmusic2 жыл бұрын
Hey @UzbDrip! I just saw your comment. I own a Boss RC-30 myself. Although I mostly use it for guitar loops, I occasionally use it to loop vocals as well. I don't experience the same problem as you, but I have a few ideas that could help you. - If you haven't done so, you can play around with mic input level on the RC-30. Is the sound clearer when the mic input level on the RC-30 is low and the volume on the mixer is high or vice versa? - If the RC-30 goes straight into the mixer and you've mixed it so that your guitar sounds amazing, that will also alter the sound of the microphone (your voice). What is a good mix for a guitar might not be a good mix for vocals. Check your mixer and play around with the settings if you haven't done so already. Try to find a setting that suits both guitar and vocals. - I would recommend using 2 separate mics when you perform. 1 mic for looping vocals (which is attached to the RC-30) and 1 mic as your lead vocal sound (which is directly attached to your mixer/PA).

Question-if I use the head rush looper board pre-programmed drum tracks, can I isolate that just one track? On the RC 300 which I love, if I use their drum tracks - Then try to lay vocal on track to the drum tracks on that as well. Hopefully the head rush can limit the drum track to just one track. I’ll be very interested in your view on this
@rowancant3071 Жыл бұрын
Wait what? So… you are suggesting that instead of the free mobius looper using literally any midi pedal setup, you would advise spending loads and loads of money to buy a less customizable set up? You definately lost me there. Mobius is such a cheap and easily accessible programme. I sincerely doubt that Ed Sheeran’s big team of people had a lot to do with setting it up, he probably got them to build his pedal based off whatever cheap set up he was already running on mobius.
