I never cared for the customer to stand around and watch me work. Most of us are used to air compressors running in shops. We Do like the quality work being put in these cars.

That always makes me a bit nervous too. I feel like I’m much more likely to screw up and do something wrong with them watching…. But not all of my customers are like that: My racing/motorsports customers are usually pretty chill, they usually just want to see how something is done properly, especially laptop tuning. I find if it’s suspension, or Dyno tuning, I’m not nervous at all; I KNOW that’s my element. This is a great video! I always feel like most customers just feel like “$400!!! It’s not my fault that it took you almost 5 hours to get it dialed in!! All you had to do was turn those ‘little adjuster thingies’, and then go to the strut towers and move those ‘plate things’ a bit !!”😂😂😂. I usually just tell them “Go, run it like this, talk to some people who had the same problem you did, and after all that, if you still think you paid more than they did, come see me…”. The next time I see them is when they have made changes, and need new settings…. Guess they figured they weren’t getting ripped off. I never rub it in. 👍

The problem was they bought someone’s else’s toy. And did not worry until the ran it hard. But, there’s no better on these cars than Rich. Thanks Austin for the explanation. But, know it’s not going out the door wrong. 💯👊👍

There is NO need to apologize for anything. I'm surprised you allowed the customers to hang out inside the work area if for no other reason than liability.

It's not typical, and certainly not what we prefer except in small bits. A lot of times though this is a customers first time interacting with us and trusting us with a high dollar item of theirs. It's also rather often the first time with a new purchase THEY can get under the car and poke around too. But we always try to accommodate folks!

@@LucoreAutoI do the same in my shop. I’ve been a customer before, and I’ve been (And still am) a racecar owner/driver. Outside of my Wife and kids, there is nothing I own that is more important/precious/valuable/sentimental, etc to me than my racecars! 36 years ago, when I built my first race car, there were a lot of things I didn’t know how to do, so I had to have help from professionals who had the right knowledge and equipment. Now I build cars for customers. I’ve never forgotten how good it made me feel, to be allowed into the shop to look my cars over, and have an active part in what’s happening with them!

This one we used a variety of tools on 😀 There's a rubber mallet that is usually the tool of choice for this kind of job.
