This footage is from a temp job I worked in the summer of 2012 installing conveyor belts at the facility. I was a subcontractor through Dematic Corp, the material handling division of Siemens.

this video was in 2012, i used to work at that DC. ya walmart has a policy about recording because the compitition might see the insides but i could careless. it is just another distribution warehouse like the rest, doesnt matter what company it is

this is a tough job i worked for 6 months as a caselot order filler, I have a lot of respect for people that do this job. I dont miss having to label boxes of oil or anti freeze anymore though lol...OMG you walked thru the firewall door

Was it lunchtime or something? Seems really empty. I've also never heard a warehouse play music before. Could probably become annoying if you don't like the music but I'd prefer that to the droning sound of a conveyor belt all day

I think it was lunch actually although most of the action happens at the end-points of the distribution network inside ie: the truck docks

Its tough I worked for 6 months and i was drained, i worked as a caselot order filler basically what that guy is doing at 1:37, labeling freight from boxes of oil to cans picking up pallets, just about anything lol its a physical job but the pay wasnt too bad

@@awog4203 - I used to work at the Wal-Mart d.c in Ottawa Kansas for almost 8 years from October 2001 til June of 2009 and that was before I worked almost 2 years at the local store in my hometown here in Kansas. Most of my time, was spent in shipping but also spent 6 months in Non-Con but couldn't make production, but I busted my *** and they ended up keeping me and sent me back over to the shipping dock but anytime Non-Con was short-handed, guess who got called over to help out? Lol.

eight years ago mia, 2012. Right there in the description. I re-uploaded this footage shortly after the shooting in case anyone went searching for a look inside the facility. I was initially threatened with legal action by my supervisor through dematic back in 2012 when I originally uploaded, now that statute of limitations has expired I can freely share the video.

What do they use the conveyor's for? What's the general flow?

Couldnt say anymore, was a long time ago and I only worked there for two weeks. Only got to really explore one time on a lunch break. I can think of one example tho, they would recieve an entire pallet of ipads or macbooks and then break that pallet into groups of say ten macbooks each and then send those groups of ten to individual retail stores for instance. Similar story for most of the products walmart sells I'd imagine.

Stuff arrives in bulk on pallets and then is picked and broken up into bins, the bins are then routed to trucks that bring high mix loads of goods to the store.
