I just want my phone call I'm speculating here, but what if we obtain a high enough wanted level in a town/area, the law around that location will be hostile whenever revisiting that location? Buildings are confirmed to be destructible, so we could obliterate towns. It's specified that choice and consequence plays a huge role in this game. That could also force the camp to have to move if Arthur creates too much trouble in an area. Since Rockstar is aiming for a RPG driven experience, I have no doubts the player's choice will effect the ending, so my theory would make sense.

I feel like the moving of the camp will probably be triggered by a main mission. Most likely one that takes place after a high stakes robbery so you move your camp to shake the heat off of you. I assume you’ll be able to explore areas as much as you want, then when you’re ready to move on you do some mission that leads to you moving your camp. I’m not too concerned about it

I think the gang mechanic will be all story. The 1st game didnt really allow story freedom and Rockstar like to tell a specific story. So the gang members that come with you will be for story sake. You probably are alone when you explore the game at will and do side missions. I imagine mostly only story missions will have Rockstar's chosen gang members to join you.

this is a prequel to red dead redemption maybe about 10 years or more in time span. Only in red dead redemption was the way of the cowboy on the brink of collapse and the industrial age starting to take over. Yet there were no vehicles to drive in that one. I would not fear it will be any different here. Rockstar knows we play a western game to ride horses not drive primitive vehicles.

What I can understand and theorize about the “chased away” camp mechanic, is that after a a big Heist, your camp needs to move to another location to not get caught. It could also mean that the more bad deeds you do in a certain location, people will be more and more angry about you being around until they finally decide to chase you out. I don’t believe it disrupts your free roaming, unless you are doing a lot of bad stuff during your roaming. Given the size of the camp, I can expect really big Heists, a proper evolution of the ones we got in GTA V, which in my honest opinion, was the best and most fun part of GTA V’s campaign.

One of the things I'm most excited about for this game is that it uses the Euphoria engine. It was actually made for a football game called Backbreakers, which was intended to compete with the Madden NFL series a long time ago. What the engine does is instead of limp ragdoll physics or having set animations for when characters get shot, the characters all act realistically to when they get shot. It applies realistic skeletal models to all characters so that they react realistically to the physical impact of your bullet (Or you to theirs...). Basically it means that no two characters will react and fall the same way when you shoot them. The scene where he shoots the one guy off his horse, and the guy slumps over and the horse bucks him off, sending him tumbling through the air, is a perfect example of this engine in action.

In terms of graphical fidelity? Absolutely. Considering that The Witcher 3 was downgraded to shit, RDR2 looks to be a true next gen title. In terms of story, i dunno; that all comes down to the individual. Personally, i don't think RDR2's story will beat Witcher's but that's just my opinion.

Joe mentions how maybe your gang members will "die off". Its been said in the past by Rockstar Devs that they didn't want to burden the player and make it a chore to take care of the camp. This means that you can leave any time you want but be prepared to come back to some pretty angry camp members once you return. So they wont die because each gang member has a schedule and job to do in the camp and someone will pick up the slack of your end of the stick once you high tail it.

I have a teori about moving the camp to new locations 14:33 .maybe it's not just about moving the camp because your gang has to flee from the Law in that region. You and your gang desides together that you want to move down South or West to seek more riches from banks and opportunity in that area. Maybe moving the camp is a mixture of moving to seek more riches or moving because of the Heat from the Law.
