These deleted scenes just indicate how truly awful series 8 was. The jokes are awkward and stale, the audience isn't laughing and even the performances are below par. Series 8 was such a missed opportunity, clearly they had a very healthy production budget, just would've been nice to that used on an classic series of Red Dwarf. One where the crew aren't still alive.

Series 8 was awesome, it's not the classic era that 1-6 was but it's also not the garbage that was 7. The jokes all follow the same format, if anything it just sounds like your personal negativity taints your ability to enjoy it lol.

The two writers split and it was never the same. It went down hill after season 6... but I still watched every season. Some of the later ones were decent but not like the originals. Hoping the one they are making now the 3 parter is done well because I think that may be the last we ever see sadly...
