Red faction guerrilla was and is one of my all-time favorite games, I started a new play through yesterday, and I am still enjoying so much

Excellent video! I just want to mention that you can see early footage of RFG that was still in first person in Greg Donovan's Vertical Slice challenge GDC presentation. You can see the video on GDC's youtube channel around 23 minutes into the presentation.

My face when this video has only 600 views!!! Wow.

So, as someone who hasn't played this series at all, you've not only piqued my interest (especially with the first game because of course I'm a PC dinosaur), but you've done a really great job of offering a really solid, condensed history of the franchise so that someone like me who is completely in the dark gets to know it way better. I'm digging your retrospectives a lot, dude!

hope you got around to playing the first RF. A personal favorite of mine

Possibly the first channel I've ever clicked the notification bell on. Your videos are EXCELLENT. Great stuff.

"Armageddon is like Dead Space" Hmm now i am interested! RF was a cool series but the celling for what it could be was very apparent, even on the ps2. That said, i cant help but feel nostalgic for the janky bint.

very good video, could have potentially mentioned how red faction guerrilla got "remarstered" years after it's release

RIP Volition. "Embracer Group has moved SaintsRow developer Volition away from Deep Silver The studio has become part of Gearbox Software (also part of the group)."

Open world ruined red faction. The first game was excellent, the second meh. The rest suck

I really think if Volition took the customisation of Saints Row 2 and the destruction of RF:Guerilla we could've had something really special. It's sad they ditched the original Saints Row timeline which prequeled Red Faction (featuring Ultor in SR2)

15:51 Such a shame that Breakout and that other Warhammer game was Juiced Games' last projects before being shut down by THQ, after all of their pitches for new IPs got rejected.

I've never seen Armageddon before, but that game wants to look like Gears of War so bad
@LuckStat2 жыл бұрын
But not even a cover system, like why even bother?
@OneWingedRose Жыл бұрын
I disagree about the last entry. I actually think its destruction was a spectacle much more impressive than guerilla's, and I think that's very much likely due to its linear nature allowing the devs to craft less stale environments around the player, rather than the many-same-piece-objects on hills and plains affair that guerilla's design had. Guerilla's a fun game, and definitely impressive in its own right, but Armageddon I personally found to be the more enjoyable experience from what I was looking for (a fun sci-fi shooter with crazy destruction). Fun video though, and I never played the first one, didn't know it was immersive-sim like, I'll have to check that one out now!

Honestly, really excited to hear someone positive on Armageddon. Definitely think it was a victim of my own pre-release hype and expectations after Guerilla, and I definitely get where you're coming from!

It looks like some of your oldest videos have very little views. I bet though now with your consistent view count and amount of subscribers you can just straight and reupload them and I bet they get a lot more views.

IMO II is the low point of the main series (I'm not certain if I played Battlegrounds but I think I vaguely remember playing at a friend's house. Not clear enough to rate though) I rate the series Guerilla I Armageddon II
@LuckStat Жыл бұрын
That's for sure how I feel as well. While I think Armageddon is a bigger disappointment than II, I still think it's the better game

Its sand, not dirt and its not particularly red, its atmosphere makes Mars appear red from outside of it, look on any photos FROM the surface. RF only had 2 good games RF1 and 3. 2 and 4 were bad and atrociously bad. Yeah when taking a risk series may become good, or it cam become an insult (right saints row ?)
