Sleeves, wire rings, copper hg and 1/2" studs would be cheaper option than billet block

Not by much and still risk dropping a sleeve, block distortion and not being able to repair it if it breaks.

Needs more dose pipe and a Hectic Habib exhaust sticking through the bonnet 😂 This car has come a long way, so has the R32. I dread to think how much money Hawko has spent on the Motive cars over the years. Only to get a fraction of it back from YT. Yeah he has some sponsors, but they haven’t paid for everything.

They really need to make all cars on track to have a spill undertray. Otherwise, one car blows up ruins the whole session.
@MotiveVideoАй бұрын
Most of them have a flat floor under the engine and no engine spill tray stops everything coming out. SOme red flags were not from oil downs but break downs too.

sounds angry ;) the amazing thing is that the PB is 0.02S slower than the eV8-supercars lap record and a good 2-seconds shy of the GT3 cars. Yes they're on slicks, but both classes are way down on power, with much more limited aero vs. time attack cars. Goes to show just how good their chassis, aero efficiency and complete package is to go faster with over 200BHP less (and more weight on the V8-supercars.) I guess it's the difference between a purpose built, modern, high budget, factory race car and a 'private,' modified 30 year old Nissan. the real scary part, is that those cars will do near that pace lap after lap with near 100% reliability... well done,
@MotiveVideoАй бұрын
GT3 aero is pretty wild actually. They also benefit from manufactuer support and bespoke motorsport components. ours uses GK Tech suspension and $2500 coilovers vs $20,000 coilovers, billet uprights, motorsport brakes etc.
@MathewWebster-o3yАй бұрын
@@manitoublack by the time these cars hit the track there’s not a heap of the “30 year old Nissan” left the v8 supercars have millions in r&d full factory support all the highest of end components no budget restrictions so for a private team to take a road car and transform it into a race car on a budget with no wind tunnels no factory support and to do the same lap time , I’d say that’s a serious achievement
@wudntulike2no32Ай бұрын
Agreed. There's good engineering and then there's very good engineering.
@johncarl5505Ай бұрын
The same way the C6 GT1 is seconds faster than Quartoumy's C6, and it can do it for 24 hours, not 1 lap.
@johncarl5505Ай бұрын
Don't underestimate slicks though, since tires are what connects the car to the track. The fastest Sports Sedans racing there are as fast as a GT3 car there despite being a lot cheaper than most time attack cars. If they didn't use slicks, they would probably be slower than the Silvia.
@Gooie69Ай бұрын
Time to get serious Andrew. FJ20 time.
@MathewWebster-o3yАй бұрын
It’s like the bar is being pushed so far now open class have to spend ridiculous money to be competitive and by doing that reliability is being sacrificed it’s only a few teams it seems have the budget to make the cars properly. Need like 800+ bhp to be competitive then to make that reliable aswell costs a fortune. Gonna have to have a look at the regulations it looks like 🫤
