@@conniecrawford5231 I just saw a TV movie of Cannon. I watched the original show every week with Conrad tooling around in his Lincoln Mark V Unfortunately the series remains copyrighted, so no full episodes are on KZbin. A lot of good they are doing sitting on a shelf somewhere.

That is the case for prisoners in California. A few years ago Kamala Harris refused to obey a court order to release prisoners who had done their time. She said that they were needed to fight forest fires. Prisoner labor is allowed by a loophole in the 13th Amendment that outlaws slavery, or forced labor, except for people who are convicted of a crime and sent to prison. In California there is a secondary consequence because released prisoners who have worked as forest firefighters are barred from getting such a job in civilian life.

Some of these shows, if I didn’t know it was Escape, I would swear it was an episode of Gunsmoke! I can’t remember which episode it was, but Bill Conrad was in it and John Dehner as a German man, and it sounded like an episode of Gunsmoke where John Dehner plays a German blacksmith who gets married to a mail order German girl! He used the same accent in another episode of Escape also!

I knew the cause of the forest fire long before it was revealed. Having the mind of a writer tends to straighten out a lot of plot twists.

I understand. Many of these episodes provide a subtle hint here and there. "Thinkers" can easily find them! Some of the best Suspense episodes don't give any clues.
