Well, are you really clean? Love the guitar in this track. It has a clean chime that sounds like bells and then a distorted crunch that has a deep pulse that seems as if it drags through mud. And the lead soloing sounds like a flowing stream that is going in more then one direction. I know this may be hard to interprete but that's what I get.
@Bergson_Deleuze2 жыл бұрын
This album is pretty much more experimental than the last one. A lot of hits in unlimited love, especially radio friendly ones, but this new album is what i think a lot of chili peppers’ fans where expecting in terms of bringing different references, including john’s solo career, and prospecting the directions the band may take from now on compared to what was left over when john left. Hope to see the band experimenting and freely composing even more, towards expanding their boundaries and affecting more people.

@@antepa112 It's a close call between the 2. UL doesn't start getting good until The Great Apes (although Aquatic Mouth Dance and Not the One, I like a good bit), but These are the Ways is a little weird to me. It's got one of the best moments on the album during the outro, but not a huge fan of the song as a whole. You can really pick the best songs from each album and make a solid one out of them. I plan on ranking the songs and doing just that.

My ranking + short comments after listening to the album for nearly a week (I had the leak). I know this will differ a LOT for everyone. 1. Bag of grins (fav song on UL + ROTDC. Its different, its fresh, its...grunge? But that crescendo and key change at the ending just DANG) 2. Afterlife (so many cool elements in this song + quintessentially RHCP) 3. Fake as Fuck (HYPE. beautiful verse melody with tempo change into the "Right On Time" of ROTDC. Ending feels super Hendrix) 4. Reach Out (absolutely love the middle ages/baroque kinda vibe and the time signature changes. Chorus isnt the best but the bridge is) 5. In the Snow (such a vibe. absolutely entrancing. During the spoken verses I listen to the instrumentals and let the vocals flow as a rhythmic element. Makes it less cringe haha) 6. Tippa My Tongue (super peppers sounding, yet the chorus is really different and refreshing) 7. Carry Me Home (bluesy and melodically very strong. Feels really "big". I can see how this is many people's favorite. Just a great song) 8. The Drummer (love the high BPM, "make you feel better" type drums and synth+guitar. somehow the verse melody isnt my absolute favorite, though it leaves a lot of space for the groove. The chorus has a great melody and I like the change from minor to major. INSANE bridge. One of the best moments of the album. 9. Eddie (love the verses and solo but really dislike the chorus, dont get me wrong, I still listened to it like 20 times and enjoy it) 10. My Cigarette (this song is intricate AF. the synth elements, little guitar moments and bass really create such a vibe. The vocals are so repetitive but the instrumentals are ever evolving and add subtle feelings to every line. I love how they're adventuring and it really worked in this track. Again, this one grows with time and I enjoy it most when not focussing on the vocals. I do notice some strong autotune artifacts in the verses. 11. Shoot Me a Smile (it feels a bit like Feasting on the Flowers, which was one of my fav The Getaway songs. Really, really good chorus. This one could've been on By The Way) 11. Bella (one of the most catchy songs on the album. Love the bridge especially. This one has great hit potential. Not my favorite, since I dont find it as novel or musically interesting as some of the others, but solid track nevertheless and definitely not a skip. 12. Handful (verses are pretty nice, though not my favorite. Prechorus is nice, though still feels a bit barebones. The chorus doesn't work for me at all. the bridge however is one of my favorite moments in ROTDC) 13. Peace and Love (I dont really like the melody that much and feel like there are better mid tempo funky songs in this album. Not my faovirte but not horrible) 14. Copperbelly (nice verse, pretty good chorus too with a nice guitar melody. The solo is a missed opportunity and is too dissonant. Not a great song in my opinion, but some people love this one) 15. La La La La La La La La (Not the greatest slow song, but it's kinda beautiful at times too. Tangelo was much better imo. This one is a skip for me, although there are some beautiful instrumental ambient elements) 16. Roulette (I absolutely cannot deal with this country vibe chorus hahaha. its like Bastards of Light all over again. Really not my type of cookie, although it has some other really strong moments in the song 2.5.(BONUS TRACK, unreleased) The Shape Im Takin (Some of the craziest drumming I've heard. Amazing solo, amazing chorus. this song is NUTS.)
