I think it's the quiet acceptance of the way things are. RHCP speak to me because, similarly to Radiohead, the music is more about acceptance of hurting rather than overcoming and sugar coating it. It's not about the happiness but the beauty of sadness. ^That is some poetic shit right there.

As a whole, this is my favorite band of musicians. Frusciante, Flea and, yes, Chad, are all talented musicians. I went to a Chad Smith drum clinic in Montreal many years ago, and he tore it up. Check out his timing and footwork...all amazing. Frusciante and Flea shared something special in the studio but even more when live. I miss that. Flea tries with Klinghoffer but there's a serious lack of the Frush/Flea flow of magic. Kling is alright but lacks in the backing vocal department as well. The best RHCP lineup, IMHO, is the one in the video. Hands down.

No disrespect to Josh, he's respectable in his own right. But, these are shoes that are impossible to fill. Unbelievable feel for music. Many guitarists fall into certain categories and styles, but John stands on his own. So unique. Probably won't see another one like him. All 3 are greats on their instruments individually. A trio like no other.

Oh man. I've heard a few covers from this song. Some even do it justice but there is nothing quite like hearing it come from the creators themselves. Flea -- perhaps the most energetic bass player ive seen. Chad just chilling drumming it out as smooth as ever. Anthony with his great charisma and presence and of course Frusciante's riffs which were divine.

++Willem+ Slash is one of the most overrated guitar players of all time, and one of the most underrated songwriters of all time too! His guitarskills are not that great, but his ability to write riffs and chordprogressions, that blend well together with the rest of the band is soooo great. Plus he has a really reckognisable sound!

The chilli's music got me through some hard times, it's like they were feeling what I was going through. I would love to see them go another 30 years. Josh is a great artist and is getting better and more comfortable but John was just magic. Josh is a strummer and John was more of a picker and much louder and he would play with a minimal note line with incredible feeling and soul and define the songs. I love the Chilli Peppers.
