Hi Kurt, I’ve tried this Ube roll recipe 4 time already and I wanted to know if It will turn out the same if I made it with the same recipe except It to be mango flavored such as adding mango essence instead of ube and mango purée instead of ube jam. Hi Alea, thanks for your question. I haven't used mango essence before. To make a mango roll, I'd suggest just using a plain chiffon cake batter with a little bit of orange and lemon zest, and mango puree like you mentioned. I have a recipe for a mango cake here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmLKpYqlfNd-a8U I haven't personally made a roll out of it, but I'd suggest halfing the batter, frosting, and mango puree ingredients from this mango cake video, but then using the technique of assembling (including the recangular pan) from the ube roll video. I'm hoping to make a separate mango roll video soon. But until then, I hope this helps! :)

Pilay Boots Hi, thanks for your question! I get my ube extract and ube halaya from a Filipino grocery store called Fil-Am, which I think is a chain in the US. So there might be one near you, depending where you live. I’ve also seen ube halaya jars available in Chinese grocery stores in the “SouthEast Asian” aisle. The cake flour I buy from Target. And the purple food coloring I order online from Amazon - I use the AmeriColor brand purple gel paste. And everything else should be easily available in local grocery stores. If there are no Filipino or Asian grocery stores near you, I know McCormick brand ube extract, as well as ube halaya, are available online on Amazon. Hope this helps! 😊

Came upon your video when searching for Ube Cake Recipe, I immediately subcribed, love the way you explain the recipe and its not boring. I don't like those videos with just a background music and no one is talking, I get bored. I haven't tried the desserts recipe but planning on it once the quarantine is over so I can get the ingredients. I have tried the adobo recipe, so delicious!! Thank you!! May I suggest for an "Ube Bar Bread" video recipe? Its an all time classic bread favorite of mine.😜😁
