Looks like the Daisy hit on the crease of the can. That’s a harder area. It slowed the B.B. down a lot, losing most of its energy. If it hit a little lower, like where the other rifle hit, it would have gone right through.

This was a really cool idea-- a lot of stuff going on. Like you said near the beginning, you'd think it would "eat up a lot of energy". So I was surprised that there was enough energy left to penetrate one or both walls of the cans, that is a lot more energy than I expected because that looks like a pretty sharp bend in the conduit. Also, maybe a slight difference in the angle the bb goes into the conduit can make a difference in how much energy gets "ate up" ... it looks like the Red Ryder BB hit higher on the can than the Sheridan Cowboy did, and since you used the X to mark the placement, it looks like hitting higher up would have to be influenced by the angle of the BB entering the conduit. And one more thing, maybe the Red Ryder BB hit closer to the shoulder of the can wall, which might have more resistance to penetration. I'd seen shooting a bullet through a curved tube before, but hadn't thought about doing it with BBs. I do wonder if being steel they tend to sort of ricochet inside the tube. You could design a new type of shooting gallery with these curved tube sections leading to spinners and paddles and stuff.

Everyone is talking about the Red Ryder, but I think if you fill those cans with water; the results can be very different especially with the crossman marlin

Is there really any difference at all between the two? I thought about getting a Cowboy to go along side of my Red Ryder but couldn't help thinking that I would just have two of the same... What's your thoughts?

The impact dent is much bigger with the Daisy because the BB is moving much slower! It's fightin' its way thru! The faster the BB travels the less the can will move and the BB will pass right thru.. quicker, faster, better!

I was so disappointed 3 months ago I bought the Daisy RR for $22 at Wallys. It is so plastic cheap these days within 60 shots the cocking action broke. Sad what happened to it.

I think you should probably shoot at near spot both of guns to get comparable data.

Very good your channel, my friend. Won like and one more subscriber. Very good presentation. Objective and very informal. I'm from southern Brazil. I live in the city of Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul and I am 65 years old. I live with my faithful companion, Draco, a pure three-year-old Rottweiler. I bought a Sheridan Cowboy today that should arrive by the end of the week. I have seen several videos about her because I was in doubt about which would be better: Sheridan Cowboy or Daisy Red Rider. I am a fan of the Wild West, not only weapons but everything, personalities, habits, in short, history. I have a Remington 1875 Dual Ammo from Crosman and two S&W Schofield, Steel Gray and Aging Black, from ASG. I have a KZbin channel called Airguns & Airsofts In it I teach how to customize airguns and airsofts, manufacture grips in wood and pearl resin, boxes (cases) for weapons, decorative frames, belts and holsters of the Wild West. I have videos where I talk about the Colonization of North America, War of Independence, Gold Rush in California, and other historical facts responsible for the formation of this beautiful country that is the United States of America. Nothing I do is to sell. Only to share with subscribers. I made a replica of the Winchester 1873, non-functional. If you have time, visit my channel. It will be a pleasure to have you as a visitor or registered. I will follow your videos that I think are great. May God protect you!

sheets of cardboard would make a better side by side test, maybe not as fun as hitting those cans but you would have a good measure

I'm looking for a bb rife for my grandfather that he can use in his backyard on nuisance birds. Preferably one that has a bb hopper so he doesn't have to handle small .177 pellets or bb every shot. What would you recommend?
@backyardplinking20436 жыл бұрын
red ryder has 700 round hopper and will dispatch small critters

The cowboy has more velocity than the RR so it punched thru can cleaner.
