Let's get back the pledge of allegiance and let's get back prayer and the Ten Commandments in school as well as on the entrance to every courthouse in America, yes we've forgotten about our Christian heritage and are about to fall just as Ronald Reagan once said, "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under".

Should of been asleep but I wanted to Celebrate, so I grabbed my Super 8 movie camera and went down to Independence Hall, had no idea about what was going to happen. Ceremony was held to the rear of the building, outside the door to where the Liberty Bell was kept at the time. Guest Speaker was Astronaut Walter Cunningham, and Red gave this version of the Pledge of Allegiance. Have a copy of the Program and I was able to film a few seconds of Red walking up to the stage with Mr. Cunningham. This is an event that I will always remember.

My school did the same. Every morning every student and every teacher would say the pledge of allegiance outside at the flagpole. It didn't matter what the weather was either. We didn't care about weather. We were very aware of the meaning. I can't believe that it was dropped from schools. Let me guess whose hair brained idea that was. '''DOOMACRATS'' !Red did that beautifully , and i remember watching him on our black and white television The same t.v. i watched when we landed on the moon, The i have a dream speech, the ask not what your country can do for you speech. the assassination of J.F.K. Lee Harvey Oswald, Martin Luther King jr., So many events . so much death with very few victory's . The monster was growing and gaining more power while stripping the peoples rights, one by one. The Republicans were far from being like angels, but the doomacrat Monster was on the loose putting our heads into a noose. And sat there watching.. While the people grew fat and got lazy, now their vote is a meaning less joke. babbling about law and order, but it's all just an echo of what they've been told. The cities have turned into jungles and corruption is strangling the land. We don't know how to mind our own business, cause they want the world to be just like us. I could go on but i feel sick all of a sudden. no matter who's the winner, we can't pay the cost. the end.

At what point should this "never be tampered with" be true though? From the original 10 amendments so that slavery is legal and women can't vote? Just after the 13th amendment, so no slavery, but women still can vote? Just before the 24th amendment so no slavery, woman can vote, but there is a poll tax that you would have to pay before you can vote? Why is it perfect now when it was not all those times before? For a document to be useful it has to be living, but the problem is that is difficult- it requires people to actually think and engage rather than making a single decision ["this is perfect, let's never touch it"] and then not having to think again because they instead reminisce about a time which never existed when things were perfect.

I am trying to hold back tears, and my chest swells from pride, this should be heard by every single American. I remember reciting the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Our teacher would ask us to stand and face the flag that was on the wall of the classroom. Every single student stood, none took a knee or refused to honor the flag. When I graduated high school I signed up to serve in the Air Force, it was my honor to serve this great country. We are not perfect, nor is our nation, but the United States of America is the greatest country on the earth. This takes new meaning in November 2020 as we fight for the president to stay in office. It is time to turn back the clock and adapt the values and traditions I knew as a child. I took the oath twice, first in the Air Force, then with my local sheriff's office to protect and defend the constitution from all enemies foreign or domestic, although I am no longer serving in the military or the sheriff's office, my oath stands until the day I die. They were loud, clowning around, and no one payed any attention to this oath. I was so angry I went home and wrote a letter to the principal and the super intendant of schools. I never received a reply and I asked my sons if there was anything said over the PA that week. I lost all respect for those teachers. I went back to that school the following week and nothing had changed, so I faced the flag and with hand over my heart I repeated the Pledge of Allegiance. After a short while some one took notice and then only some of them stood still. That was 30 years ago. I understand they have the right to do nothing. And that is what is wrong with our people today. They do nothing. And that is why our country is going down the tubes. It starts in our homes and schools.

There is a wave of anti-American ideology trying to redefine what our country was founded upon. The Pledge of Allegiance is voluntary but leftists would gladly do away with it or replace it with a loyalty to Marxism.

I remember watching The Red Skelton Show when I was a little kid. I used to like his Klem Kadiddlehopper character. Now at age 66 I have been seeing his movies on the TV channels that show old movies amd I just finished watching his show on another channel. He was a talented performer. I see his perfromances differently now. Red left school in the 7th grade. I recall my father's aunt's pride in graduating from the 8th grade. She was the first in her family to graduate from the 8th grade. More years of education have not brought us more wisdom. Red Skelton and my father's aunt survived though the harrowing years of the great depression and WW2. Red did not learn his trade in an arts school. He learned on the job and perfected it though practice. Taking the pledge of Allegience apart and understanding its meaning line by line and word for word gave him more appreciation for the true meaning of the pledge. That was how you learned things back then. My father spent his weekends working on his grandmother's farm. If something was broken, you didn;t throw it in the trash. You fixed it. And in learning how to fix things, you had a better and more intimate underastanding of the tools you fixed. These days our biggest decisions are what to keep and what we should throw in the garbage. And instead of learning about each other through intimate conversations, we talk with strangers on the Internet and abandon our family and friends. We have become more isolated in our wider circle of acquaintances.

Thank you so much for this. Red was always my favorite Comic but also my favorite human being because he loved everyone. I am but one of the many that has served our great country and fellow Americans, scared yes but happily earned and will happily earn more if the need arises. But nothing hurts we,the veterans who have served, those serving now, and the families deprived of their lost family members that sacrificed their lives in battle than the lack of respect and lack of pride in and for our flag and country. I still and always will support and defend our Constitutional Republic and Bill Of Rights. We have to change the example that certain Political groups have been displaying to our young people by doing what is right with our votes and also show all MSM broadcasters we deserve the truth like the news use to report, by boycotting all networks, cable, and satellite providers that choose to do nothing more than lie!

Thank you for your service. My father also served our country in the military for 27 years. I am glad he is not alive to see what is happening. What people like us to be understanding is that we are not against the Democratic party. They ceased to exist about 10 years ago. We are fighting Socialism. The division between races is caused by them and the hatred is theirs. We need to make Socialists accountable for the violence (Antifa) and insist on it. The pathway to hell is paved with the intentions of Socialists.

Pretty interesting video. As a Canadian, I've never had to stand up and pledge allegiance to my country, but I can appreciate how heartfelt and patriotic of a gesture it is for those who mean every word they say when reciting it. It's a real shame certain people want to remove it from schools and whatnot for such trivial reasons, but then again I doubt there are very many children thinking about the deeper meaning of what they're saying and the implications nowadays. Regardless, God bless America. May she ever last.

People seem to forget that our Creeds, like the pledge, was well thought out word for word and was meant to have a strong emotion when spoken. Our history has been downplayed with regard to the people who wrote these words. Lets not forget to teach our children that our words have meanings. Our pledge isnt just words to be spoken, they are to be felt. Felt by everyone. Lets remember a Veteran next time we hear the pledge or another of our creeds.

I come from a family of veterans. I grew up on a military base. In elementary school, we had to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every morning. We also had to sing the Star Spangled Banner every day. We even had to say a prayer every day. I learned the meaning of words like LOYALTY, ALLEGIANCE and RESPECT, words that seem lost today. Even though I didn't fully understand the words in the Pledge, I felt their weight. I saw the flag raised and lowered every day. I saw military salutes. I learned about REAL GI Joes and the sacrifices they've made over the last 240+ years. (By the way, if you don't understand the word "sacrifice", I recommend you spend time in a military cemetery. I've walked through several and been to two full military honors funerals.) Thank you for posting this. I fully respect your right to own a firearm. God bless you.
