Just picked up my first pair of 877’s. Very happy with them so far. I treated mine with Sno-Seal on the lowers and the patina is amazing. I swapped the laces as well, but went with an 80” lace from Pisgah Laces. I like that they do easily relax given these have no hooks and have to be untied/slackened a fair amount to take off.

I bought myself a pair of the 10877s about 3-4 months ago, absolutely superb choice. Once I was through the break-in, they turn into the most comfortable, rugged, bust-ass boot ever. The fact that these boots are something I can pass down to my children, makes my decision feel that much better. After treating them to some Huberd's Boot Oil, and then some Obenauf's Leather Oil; that Oro-iginal leather became superbly supple, and the oils gave the leather a stunning dark oaken red hue. Very very happy with this vintage style from Red Wing.

Great video!! Loved the content and the info you give thanks for sharing about the laces, I didn’t know that. I love redwing boots, I went from buying timberland pros for work to buying my first pair of redwings 1.5yrs ago.

That isn't a "recent move they made" regarding the straight sewn upper opposed to the round one. The eight inch moc has always had the straight line. The six inch has always had the round. These boots were created in 1950's and have never changed since their inception. Aside from being originally called Irish setters.

Is it true to size? Been hearing people say go half size down. Idk always had thorogoods.

I learned those have 2 layers of leather around bottom 3 inchs of the boot.

If you just go under over to start instead of over under you won’t have that problem with the regular laces

Only in Canadá do they give you free boots.

From experience those sizing plates that they have you step on is never accurate, they wasted im sure millions of dollars on that equipment because its dead wrong every time. - from my experience anyways
